I've been coming to this spot since at least 2010. Always enjoying the same thing. Miso ramen with Chashu, corn, and extra chopped pork. Recently, well after Covid, they've revised there menu(horribly I might add due to typos, its just bad design) so I go in and now I have to ask for Chashu ramen IN miso broth add corn, and here is the part that gets to me. I ask for extra "chopped pork" and I understand the language barrier makes it difficult but the same lady and I always fight, thats just it we always fight and I am getting sick and tired of it. I tell her can I get extra pork, and she says oh we don't have bbq pork and I'm like no, just add some pork to my ramen, and she looks confused and blinks like a confused child and tells me you want more Chashu? And the situation gets increasingly frustrating....No I want chopped pork. And eventually guess what???? She's like oh chopped pork okay, they charge me extra they add it. So now tell me why I have to go through this entire god damnned process every time I am there to eat, oh we don't have bbq pork, yes I know I want chopped pork extra, oh you mean chopped pork okay we add. I'm like dude what the absolute flip is going on! I've been going now for 15 years this lady is psychologically torturing me at this point because the food is so damn good and yet I do not want to deal with this frustration again. My friend just laughs because we do go there multiple times a year and its always the same. And its just bad business practice, I asked for butter, lady is like oh we don't sell, Dude lady what is wrong with you charge me 5 bucks and give me a spoonful of butter what is wrong with you?...
Read moreQuickie: CASH ONLY Delicious fried rice One of my new fave go-to's Food: I LOVE FRIED RICE. So, I'm biased but that also makes me very picky because I've had a lot of fried rice in my time and I know what I like. The shrimp fried rice and pork fried rice (chahan) is definitely ranked up there in my top fave rice plates. I recommend ordering the large size... not because they don't give enough, but because it's so darn tasty, I'm sad when I hit the bottom of my bowl. The chashu ramen is also delicious. Great size bowl and prices that won't break the bank.
Service: Great staff, very friendly, very professional. Food comes out in a reasonable amount of time.
Parking: Private lot in the back, plenty of spaces. You can enter through the back door of the restaurant (sometimes it feels awkward, but it's totally cool, just flag down a waiter when you walk in and they'll seat you).
Location: Even though it's located on the busy Redondo Beach Blvd., the private parking behind the place is great. No worrying about your car on the crazy street.
Overview: Oishiiiiii desu. Love getting my fried rice fix here. Highly recommended... not an overly huge place but not so small you feel claustrophobic. It'd make a good date place or lunch hangout but don't forget to BRING CASH. (However if you do forget to bring cash, there is a CVS right next door so one of you can sneak out and get cashback from...
Read moreGreat ramen but lack of service. Everyone that was Asian or white got serviced, they got seated and got food faster than us. We got there and we waited about 10 mins to get seated and no acknowledgement. So we just went to our own seats. Another 15 mins went by and we finally got a menu. We ordered food drinks and a side. The waitress came back only with the ramen. We saw that she kept giving priority to everyone else but us. She constantly went to bring everyone else their food if they need a refill or more food. She even brought over a free side to the family next to us for making them wait 10 mins. Like really? We got up to pay and the waitress was charging us for two drinks and sides that we NEVER got after asking twice about it already. I said we didn’t get the items to our table so we wouldn’t be paying for those. She refused to take them off. How am i suppose to pay for something we never got!!?? In the end she only charged us for the ramen and still was dumbfounded when we left her no tip. Here’s a tip, service your...
