Taco Mama - Gardendale — Restaurant in Gardendale

We wanted something quick and easy with drinks for the adults and food for the boys after a long baseball game and this place looked like it would be great. We walked in and the staff quickly put some tables together for us. The staff was friendly and quick. Our food didn’t take long at all! I wanted to order nachos but went with the cash tacos basket instead. I should have done nachos. The food looked really good to me and everyone else loved their food. I just wasn’t a fan of my order. The fish was different temperatures -some pieces were warm and some were a little cold. Maybe it was bc it was on top of the cold avocado pieces but I don’t think it should have been that much of a difference. Next time, I will either go with nachos or a bowl, which I didn’t realize was an option. Again, everyone else seemed to enjoy their food so maybe I just need to give this place another try. I’ve been here with my wife maybe 4 times at this point. I’ve also been to other Taco Mama locations and have never had a problem with service, but this place has blown me away every time.

I’ve interacted with at least a dozen different employees at this point and every single one seems to go above and beyond to make sure we’re happy. Again no shade at other locations because no complaints about service at all elsewhere and food is always good everywhere, but this team is special. Multiple table touches to check on us, offering above and beyond service for fast casual, greeting everyone at the door genuinely with a smile and a menu, patience and friendliness while ordering etc—I could go on and on.

I managed multiple units for a relatively recently bought out very successful Birmingham-born fast casual concept for many years so this is coming from a very informed perspective—absolutely fantastic job to all. Keep it up—lucky to have you...

Stopped in with my husband for a to go order (chicken build your own bowl) and one lady met and greeted us at the door, the second lady greeted us a second time and took our order, I ordered a lot of extras for my bowl and offered to pay extra if necessary, after ordering she didnt charge me anything extra and even noticed that my husband and I would be sharing my meal. When the gentleman brought us the bag he explained that they included an extra bowl for us to be able to easily split and share the meal. Honestly by far the best Taco Mama location I have been to yet. As a business owner I can appreciate outstanding customer service and attention to details. The staff deserve a raise for their dedication and extra effort they put into their work. STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION! The management is definitely managing.
