Lian's Kitchen — Restaurant in Garfield

Recently moved into the area and was happy to find there was a Chinese take-out place walking distance from my new home. Even happier now that I have been going to this tasty little take-out place for a few weeks now! The food here is really good and a little different...in a good way...than your average Chinese take-out joint. The dumplings are closer to the type you'd get in Chinatown and the seafood, meats and vegetables all taste really fresh. Best yet, their fried dishes such as the dumplings, egg rolls and fried rice are not greasy at all. You get to taste the food and not cooking oil. I have had the chicken dumplings, the awesome shrimp dumplings, shrimp with lobster sauce, chicken with broccoli, fried rice and the four seasons and have not been disappointed once. The food is prepared quickly, is affordable and the staff are super friendly. Their menu also features some Japanese udon noodle dishes I'm eager to try! I've tried this place out about 3 times on doordash over the year. None of the experiences have been good. All 3 times, I got raw cheese wontons where the wontons still looked pearly white and like dough. Dumplings are often the same, undercooked and the meat texture is kinda slimy and has no chew to it, so after a bite your first instinctual reaction is that something is wrong. Their soups always taste like just water. I've ordered the wonton soup twice and both times it was just water with some wontons floating inside. The vegetable dumplings were some of the worst. I bit into them and whatever was inside was crumbly and grainy; was too disgusted to really inspect it further. Just not a good place, food quality is...

By far the tastiest Chinese food can be found at Lian's Kitchen. The meals are always delicious, they are neatly packaged and cooked. Each bite is filled with the most delectable flavors. It's all worth it because of the hard work and preparation. The Teriyaki, a crispy and tasty meal, is one of my favorites. The General Tso Chicken's crunchy flavor and the extra crispy Fried Hard Wings are also very delectable. The mouthwatering Lemon Peppered Wings, which are crispy and savory are a must have.
