I have never writen reviews but I have absolutely have had the worst possible experience with using home depot for floor installation. Mind you home depot is pushing the sale of their products for a third party to install. The installers do not bring the material with them, home depot schedules a delivery and drops off the material. The first problem came up with the delivery of the materials the day prior to the installation. I made it clear that I live in a condo complex and that the delivery had to be the day before as I cannot have a pallet of flooring and 16ft molding sitting in my living room for more than 1 day, which was already a red flag. I also stated that the material has to be brought into my home. When the delivery came a tractor trailer with a flat bed came to my complex and dropped my materials in the parking lot of my complex. The driver stated he doesn't bring it into the house which is ridiculous as that is the whole point of setting up someone to install your floors and I was already told they would bring in the material. As the driver unloaded my material I noticed that the baseboard molding was cracked and damaged as he placed it down on the sidewalk of my complex. Note that this baseboard is finishing molding which is now being scraped by being put on the asphalt which is covered with rock salt from snow. The driver then said I needed to call the store and work it out with them about getting all the material into my house. I just recently had back surgery so there was no way I was able to bring in a pallet of flooring into my condo. Once again the whole point of me hiring and paying home depot was for them to do the work not me. At this point the driver left leaving all the material outside in 25 degree weather where I had to now stand gaurd and watch my material so nobody will steal it while trying to get someone on the phone from home depot. I finally got someone and they told me someone should be at my home in 20 to 30 minutes to bring in the flooring. I also stated to them that the molding was damaged as well and will need it replaced. That 30 minutes turned into 2 hours of me standing outside waiting. 2 men finally showed up and brought in the material. I explained to them that the base board was damaged and they said I don't know anything about that and to call the store. Trying to keep my composure I then called the store again and asked about the baseboard molding replacement. I was passed around to 5 different people and on my 5th person I was conveniently transfered to dial tone. Now I was infuriated as I am now 3.5 hours dealing with this situation with no resolution. I proceeded to calling the home depot 1800 number where I got in touch with a regional manager to help sort out this mess. He was on the phone with me for 1.5 hours trying to get in touch with a manager at the store but for some reason there was no manager working. He apologized to me and said he will escalate this situation. Now 5 hours into this as I hang up with the regional I get a call from home depot stating that they spoke to the installers and they will pick up the baseboard prior to the installation. The next day the installers finally get to my home and look at the job and go outside. I then get a phone call from the company they work for saying they need to charge me another $350 for furniture removal as they were unaware of furniture. Prior to installation home depot sends a person to measure and inspect the space which involves taking pictures of the job with all the furniture. At this point the installers would not start the job until I agree to pay the additional charge which I was not going to pay as the quote I was given was after the inspection so home depot was well aware of the furniture. I then got a call from the home depot store manager and she said I had to pay $ 325 for them to start. I then argued my case and she then tried to negotiate down which to me was ridiculous. Do not use...
Read moreI do not recommend this Home Depot , neither do other Home Depot’s in the area. I was first being assisted with a regular cashier at the Paterson location , then a manager “Daniel “ came over and started us helping resolve the return issue even further. Daniel provided us with peace of mind that the situation was small and could be handled. CARMEN walked over and tried to include herself in the issue that was already being resolved and handled. CARMEN says (infront of me) “they are stupid” she said to another coworker. As a bilingual American citizen I felt very disrespected. CARMEN PROCEEDED to say “well you walked out with it” referring to the ac we had just come to return that was purchased this morning CARMEN takes the receipts from Daniel and changes everything we were doing. After about an hour CARMEN tells us to return to the Paterson location and talk to her “friend” Pablo and he’d resolve the issue . (Issue was being handled at the Passaic location before CARMEN approached). I agreed to return to the Paterson location to get my full refund in my card like CARMEN had said I could only if I returned to the original store . I leave and arrive at the Paterson store and was assisted by their manager which let us know that CARMEN returned our order and put over four hundred dollars on a store credit AFTER we left the Store AFTER she told me to go to the Paterson store . CARMEN is very disrespectful does not care to say or do what she feels infront of customers, verbally and physically disrespectful. it was agreed by everyone (workers at both locations ) that CARMEN was the issue and she should of never inserted herself into the situation, then we wouldn’t of spent the whole day at Home Depot . CARMEN has lack of morals for herself and respect for others. (She lied about everything to get us out the store basically ) worst Home Depot in...
Read moreAfter spending a considerable amount of time selecting the items I needed and then paying for them, nature called. I asked an employee where the restrooms were located, only to be informed that they are locked and only a store associate has the key. This meant I had to leave my paid items at the front of the store, which made me uneasy but I had no choice.
The employee directed me to the restroom area, but getting there turned into quite an adventure. I had to track down a store associate who had the key, which involved walking through several aisles and asking multiple employees for help. Finally, I found someone with the key and was able to use the restroom.
Relieved, I hurried back to the front of the store, hoping my items would still be there. To my dismay, I discovered that they had been moved, and I had to track down another employee to help me find them again. This entire experience added unnecessary stress to my shopping trip.
Overall, the restroom situation at Home Depot was far from convenient. If you find yourself needing to use the bathroom while shopping there, be prepared for a bit of a wild goose chase, involving chasing down employees for the key, and hope that your items will still be waiting for you when you return.
In contrast, Lowe's offers a far superior experience with bathrooms that are easily accessible and do not require a key. Their restrooms are conveniently located and open (Doorless), eliminating the hassle and stress of having to find an employee just to use the facilities. This simple yet crucial difference makes shopping at Lowe's a much more...
