Egg Roll Cafe — Restaurant in Garland

Contrary to what the posted hours indicate here, and at the store itself, this place is almost never open when it's supposed to be.

The dining room is also closed, they won't even open it to take orders.

The food is actually really, really good but it's hard to enjoy it when the place is closed when it's supposed to be open.

Then there is their bizarre drive thru only policy. It's infuriating.

Never in my life have I encountered people so allergic to efficiency. Instead of opening the interior, or even taking orders at the window and having cars pull around until the food is ready, each car has to sit at the window until their order is finished. I've seen a line of cars 8 deep, but even when it's only a couple of cars it takes forever due to a completely unavoidable bottleneck imposed on customers by clueless management who are apparently also allergic to making money; I can't tell you how many people I've seen get mad and just leave because of how unnecessarily long the wait is.

There is a very nice lady who works the window, she's the only competent person who works there. Tonight when I pulled up to the window (the speaker "works" but neither side can be heard over the traffic) I sat there for almost 5 minutes before the guy who cooks started banging on the window to get my attention. He was pointing at a sign that had hours for quite some time (I couldn't make out what he was saying) before he finally yelled loud enough for me to hear that they were closed. Also keep in mind that, according to the sign he was pointing at they should have been open.

This idiot was standing right next to the window they pass food/take orders through, but I had to go through all of that because he was too dumb to realize that opening the window and telling me they're closed might be better than gesticulating wildly in front of the only tiny clear space there.

These people are not getting any money from me again until they either update their hours online to reflect when they are actually open or start actually staying open when they should be. They also need to open the interior for to go orders, or at the very least streamline the drive thru by taking orders and having cars pull around so that someone can run the food out to the customers. Having to sit in a drive thru line for 15 minutes while they prepare my food is ridiculous, both for me and the people stuck behind me.

This place just needs to finally go away. I haven't tried it in a while and decided to give him a test tonight. Waited over 10 minutes in line to get to the window, where you have to order. That in itself is ridiculous as one person orders at the window and then waits for their food before the next person can get to the window. It is drive through only. I placed an order at the window and was told that that was a lunch only meal. I didn't see any other options on the menu board. What was $6.49 on the menu board was $10 and that did not include in egg roll, which is included in the $6.49 meal. I just told them I would leave and never return. I went elsewhere and I recommend others...

Bad service and bad food! I’ve given this place a lot of tries and it’s a hit or miss. The gentleman at the window is rude and has no professionalism. Each time I’ve gone he is either annoyed or trying to close the window the sec he opens it. The chicken is either mixed with white or dark meat. If they run out of chicken they pull from other entrees to accommodate for the the shortage which changes the taste of the whole meal. Did I mention the chicken is always dry! The price is decent but better off spending a buck or two across the street at the other Chinese place. Better service and better...
