As much as I love the quality of the food at Kaze 3 stars is the highest I can rate them. The food is awesome (I’ll probably repeat that over and over throughout my review) but the Customer Service aspect of the restaurant could definitely use some recursive training. My very first time going was nothing short of amazing! The wait time was about 35 minutes but the we were seated with a nice group of people (pre-COVID) and our waitress was extremely nice and chef was in great spirits even being so late in the evening. My second time was even better! No wait and the food was awesome as always. The third time I provided my phone number and waited outside but the waitress wrong it down incorrectly and never reached out...literally...and we were within walking distance sitting on the bench right outside of the restaurant. We didn’t want to keep walking inside since the waiting area is pretty small and it was requested that everyone waited outside or in their cars to be called. Another Customer was also extremely intoxicated and vomited on my feet in the restroom so I could understand how and why their focus was on her but it would have been nice to have someone take a few steps outside to let Me know the number they attempted to dial was not in service or whatever the error was when they tried to call. Once again, the food was amazing that night when we finally got a booth (although it was an error on their part I was still placed to the bottom of the waiting list for the other side of the restaurant). I let bygones be bygones and went back for a fourth time and my experience was more like the first and second time. Excellent food and service. Coming up to the attempted 5th visit I called two weeks in advance and provided the date and time I wanted to reserve a party of 8 and was told a Manager would call back “in a few days” to confirm my reservation. I waited 3 days before calling back and was told this was new information and that they would have a manager call Me back the same day to confirm my reservation. I waited 2 days before calling back and received another explanation that was somewhat similar stating a manager confirms reservations within 1 day to 2 hours prior to the day/time of reservation. This was extremely frustrating because my family was coming out of town and I spoke very highly of Kaze. Fast forward to the day of, I never received a call confirming my reservation so I decided not to drive from Morrisville to Garner with a party of 8 not knowing if our said reservation would be honored or not and I definitely didn’t want to be ‘that Customer’ acting out of emotion because I was frustrated. Once again their food is great but it seems like their customer service and communication is as bad as their food is good. I hope this review helps someone out there considering visiting and I hope your experience is as great as...
Read moreThis will be my first time leaving a 1 star review for a place I really used to enjoy with my family. My husband and I found Kaze to host our baby shower and we had such a great experience we decided to keep coming back. The reason for this one star is yesterday my husband and I went to eat at Kaze yesterday with our 6 month old and my parents. Everything was fine at first but what threw us off on the beginning was we were already a family of 4 (5 if you include my son) sitting at the table and then they forced another family to sit at the table with us who was also a family of 4 and I felt really bad for that family because they had to sit way in the back and basically miss the show of the cooking (keep in mind this would be more Norma if we weren’t have distance guidelines for the pandemic)...I thought “Man this isn’t fair for them, they’re paying for the show too” and keep in mind that all the other tables were empty at the time so it’s not like they couldn’t of had their own table but this action made me feel like Kaze wanted to be cheap and not let the family enjoy their own experience. The second reason for the negative review is that with our meal my husband and I got the dinner for 2 which comes with the steak, chicken, and shrimp. After our food was given to us (the chicken mainly since it was the last thing cooked) I noticed a lot of my chicken was not cooked all the way and when I told my husband this he also told me that a lot of his wasn’t cooked all the way either. When I voiced this to the waitress the other family mentioned theirs was the same too but said “this is to be expected you’ll find some uncooked chicken” and I’m thinking....uhmmmm NO it’s NOT to be expected? At this point in time we already paid for our meal so the waitress offered to cook me an additional side of chicken which I thanked her and happily accepted. The most disappointing part of this was when I finally got the chicken my other family members were done eating and when I ate into the chicken I also found some of THOSE PIECES WERE UNDERCOOKED AS WELL. At this point in time I lost my appetite and just put all the food in the container because who could steal eat after realizing some of the food you ate was undercooked and continued to be undercooked? I could understand if it was the steak but undercooked chicken is dangerous and I’ve been down that route before with food poisoning from undercooked chicken. With this being said I’m not trying to bash Kaze or anything but please whoever is cooking there retrain them on how to at least cook the food thoroughly. If multiple people had the same issue I did then who else apart from our group experiences the same thing? It’s sad to say but my favorite go to Japanese steakhouse will have to change because I don’t see myself coming back for a long time...until I’m sure things...

So, what I received was decent at best but completely overpriced. This was mall food court style hibachi for the price of 30.00 plus per plate and filled with bland noodles but delicious fried rice. The protein portion was ample and delicious as well. However, one can purchase the same plate at many other restaurants for half the price… The service was terrible. Our server may have been having a bad night and that is understandable but you must leave your issues behind when at work. We didn’t get a smile the entire time which is also not necessary for a decent experience at a restaurant but she straight up took our order and never asked how everything was. Not even once. Our appetizers came out within 1 minute after we asked for them. That was my first bad signal….The side ginger salad we had was soggy which is a sign that it is prepped prior to guests showing up as to save time. I ate a few bites and put it away as it’s disgusting to eat soggy lettuce. This is not how you save time or money in a restaurant. It takes less than 30 seconds to put bagged salad into a bowl and top it off with a spoonful of ginger dressing. lol What a terrible decision on managements part…What are you thinking? The onion soup was delicious though so that was nice to have that. We ordered our dishes but the server never took our empty plates and bowls after we were finished. This was her opportunity to discover that I did not eat my appetizer that I asked for and figure out why. Lol After about 30 minutes of waiting, we received our mall grade food court hibachi and ate. I was surprised when she refilled my water. I should never be surprised by this in a restaurant. Pretty sad. Then I had to flag down a sushi chef to get us boxes and our check because our server was none existent. He got our server and she came through and laid the check down with the boxes and then left without asking how everything was. I left her a just okay tip and I wanted to leave one dollar only but I know times are tough on people. This was my first and only time coming to Kaze. Whata joke and what if I’m a...
