TLDR: Bathrooms Dirty, Staff Issues, Food Subpar
Our visit to TGIF in Garner, NC, last night left much to be desired, especially considering the $20-30 per person we spent. As a party of four, we anticipated a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, our expectations were not met.
Right from the start, our encounter with the hostess was less than ideal. Despite having already provided information to the hostess at the podium, we were asked redundant questions, which immediately soured our mood. Thankfully, our waitress, Mirella, did her best to mitigate the situation, despite her section being nearly full.
Regarding the food, it was a disappointing affair. We ordered an array of dishes, including an 8oz sirloin steak cooked medium, Cajun shrimp and pasta, Philly cheesesteak, and baked salmon with an extra side of ribs to go. However, what arrived at our table was a mishmash of mix-ups. The only dish that met expectations was the Philly cheesesteak, which was flavorful and satisfying. Unfortunately, the salmon lacked the correct sides, and we were charged for jasmine rice that never materialized. The Cajun shrimp and pasta left an unpleasant aftertaste reminiscent of stomach bile, while the steak was the worst offender. It seemed to have been improperly prepared, resulting in a bland, spongy texture with little flavor.
Adding to our disappointment was the extensive wait time of 45 minutes before our food was nearly ready. Our waitress, Mirella, bore the brunt of this delay, though it was not her fault. She informed us that the kitchen was short-staffed, with two cooks in training and recent departures. While this explanation sheds light on the situation, it does not excuse the poor dining experience.
Furthermore, the atmosphere, particularly the state of the bathrooms, was another letdown. The floors were very sticky, the urinals were coming off the wall, the sink was leaking water constantly, and the trash was overflowing. Despite arriving shortly after 7:15, it was evident that bathroom cleanups before the dinner rush had not occurred.
As patrons of a restaurant named TGIF (Thank Goodness It's Friday), we expected more effort to ensure an enjoyable Friday night experience. Regrettably, our visit fell far short of this standard, and we left feeling dissatisfied and disheartened. Despite the challenges she faced, we left a 20% tip for Mirella, acknowledging her hard work and encouraging her not to be discouraged by the circumstances.
In summary, our trip to TGIF in Garner, NC, was marred by subpar food, lengthy wait times, disappointing service, and a lackluster atmosphere. We hope that the management addresses these issues to improve the overall dining experience for...
Read moreOne of the worst restaurants I’ve ever eaten at, April 7th 10:30pm my wife and, I went to this restaurant and ordered two Cajun chicken, and shrimp pastas and, mozzarella sticks. We spent $41.97 when we got home that night we noticed hair in both pastas. Curbside delivery ended at 11:45pm so we couldn’t call back and, get our food remade so we had to wait until the next day. My wife and I called the restaurant the next day didn’t ask for our money back just wanted our food remade. We spoke to a associate on the phone that asked us a bunch of questions about the food and, did we still have a receipt. We kept one plate of pasta and the receipt, and through the rest of the food away. The associate communicated to her manger, and she said she would replace the food just bring the plate the receipt and, to call before we came, so we did. Now the associate says her manger said since you only have one plate. She’s only gonna replace the one because that seems suspicious. My wife and I communicated to the manager, that was unacceptable. We asked for the manger to come outside and speak to us her name was Ms.Scarborough. She came outside with a attitude screaming, cursing, and being disrespectful towards my pregnant wife and I because she thought it was suspicious that we didn’t have both plates of pasta. So we grew frustrated and, Ms. Scarborough called herself getting even more mad. Because she didn’t like our tone for he coming outside with a attitude. Ms. Scarborough refused to fix our order told us we were banned from the restaurant walked away and slammed the door in our face. We walked in behind her she kicked us out. I had my foot in the door trying to talk to Ms. Scarborough, and she grabbed the door repeating to slam it on my foot, and when she couldn’t push me through raised her hand to act like she was going to hit me. Ms. Scarborough then said she was gonna call the police. The police arrived and, talked to me and my wife, Ms. Scarborough still refusing to fix the order, and we could take it up with corporate because she didn’t give a dam, and asked the police could we be escorted off the property. Ms.Scarbrough is a racist and she needs to be fired immediately she’s unfit, and I’m going to make it my business that everyone I know. Never eats at the T.G.I. Friday’s in garner as long as she works there. I would give them zero...
Read moreRead moreFirst impression walking to my table was how sticky the floor was. Gross! It wasn't just one spot, it was the entire floor! I used to go to TGIF's in the past, but it's nothing like it was. What happened? It really went downhill. My family went for dinner and we didn't get a waitress to come to our table for over 30 or so minutes. Never did we get asked if we wanted water or anything to drink. We had to seek out our waitress and ask if we could order anytime soon. Since we had waited so long with hunger growing stronger, we decided to order everything all at once... drinks, appetizer, main course. It took about 20 minutes more or so. Everything came at different times, which normally you'd get all together so the family can eat together and not have to watch one member enjoy the food while you still wait for your dish. We ordered the same drink to avoid this situation of waiting for different drinks. Sure enough, tht particular drink (iced tea) wasn't ready. What??!! We had to wait for it to brew. Another wait. We ordered Loaded Southwest Potato Twists, Classic Fridays Combo Table-tizer, Sizzling Flat Iron Steak, Center-Cut Sirloin, Chicken Parmesan Pasta and Kids Crispy Chicken Fingers. The only good platters we received from this order were the Kids Crispy Chicken Fingers and the Center-Cut Sirloin, even though it had an insane amount of butter plopped on top. The "supposed" Flat Iron Steak was so bad and here's the reason why --The sauce was overloaded and sweet, yuck! The meat was fibris, hard and unable to pass. Was this actually a flat iron steak? It was one of the more expensive choices to be unpalatable. I do not recommend. Now for the Loaded Southwest Potato Twists, they're just potato chips with a whole bunch of sauce that makes everything soggy. Not good! And the Chicken Parmesan Pasta had what looked and tasted like a high amount of "Kraft" dried parmesan cheese, nothing fresh, where it couldn't be eaten. The chicken was overcooked to the point it was too hard to chew. Who is cooking up these meals back there? Was the dish washer or busser hired to cook or reheat food? I should not have had to pay for all these platters tht couldn't be eaten, but I did. Threw money down the drain in this experience,...
