A star rating of 0 would be more appropriate for this experience.I used to shop at this particular Burlington weekly. However, after this experience, I will no longer shop there. I went to exchange a child’s coat that was purchased two days prior; new with all tags but no receipt. Upon approaching register # 5, the cashier (an early to mid 20s, about 5’5”-5’8” Hispanic female) was talking on her cell phone. I placed my items on the counter (the original child’s coat that I wanted to exchange and the in-store child’s coat were placed first) and explained that I wanted to make the exchange separate from the other items that I was going to purchase. She told me that she couldn’t exchange my item because I did not have the receipt. I told her the coat was in its original state, all the tags were still attached, and provided the phone number for the original purchase. She looked up the number, found the item, and still refused to exchange without the receipt. I requested to speak to the manager on duty to get further assistance. She told me that I would be waiting for awhile, picked up her cell phone, snd proceeded to talk on her cell phone. Several minutes later a “manager” walked up; an early 30s to mid 40s, 5’4”-5’6”, male Hispanic. He flat out told me that he wasn’t going to make an exchange without a receipt. He was rude, unpleasant, and told me to come back with a receipt. Then told me that I could go somewhere else. His tone was gnarly, aggressive, and he appeared agitated. In a effort to de escalate the situation, I left and chose to make a corporate complaint. Regardless of any store hour, shopper traffic, or holiday, cashiers and managers should be held to some degree of professionalism or customer service. Both the cashier and manager were undeniably rude and likely display the same to other...
Read moreMy experience was not good. The boss/Manager whatever he is, His name is Micheal disrespected me and my sister today. I was testing out a chair to buy and he comes and tells me “stop messing with my stuff because you don’t have the money to purchase anything” somewhere along those lines. I felt humiliated. He then proceeds to go up to my sister who was looking at furniture as well and snatches the furniture from her and puts it somewhere else. When he walked away me and my sister left that area and he then find us and yells “do u need a job?” We said “No we don’t we work at a better job than this place” he then tries to make not seem rude by saying “I was going to offer you a job” we felt so disrespected we didn’t even want to be there anymore but we stayed because we didn’t want one person to ruin the fact that we want to purchase a chair. Then we tell the cashier she says “he just plays around like that” our questions to ourselves is why would you talk to a stranger like that even after you can tell they were offended and uncomfortable? This was very inappropriate...
Read moreHad a very unpleasant experience. Had a return to make with card used and tags intact on items, they were in the return date window as well. A young lady helped me and when we scanned the receipt they said they could not find the items in their system. She had a man that was a so called manager come assist her. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He flat out said "no" to any means of fixing rectifying the situation and wouldn't bother giving me store credit, then proceeded to try and kick me out because they had a long line. Another man came and helped to resolve the issue respectfully while the first "manager" kept barking things like "Really? You're really going to help her? It better not be a return over $25 or it's coming out of your salary". Disgusted with the level of customer service I was shown yesterday at the Garner location. The "management" team needs to re do training because that is...
