Good food mostly, not too pricy
update June 2021: Don't bother going for Sunday's brunch! My wife and I have been eating Krafty's food for over 3 years now. It has always been delicious whether we dine in or take out. So when we learned they had a Sunday brunch, we were excited to try it.
We started with coffee. Mine arrived in a mug. My wife's arrived in a brandy sniffer glass. You can imagine how difficult it is to hold a glass full of a hot liquid. We asked the waitress about this. She said they only had 3 mugs and I had the last one. We thought this odd because we have Irish coffees there before and mug shortage was never a problem.
I think our waitress must have been new. I had to get up and get knives and forks for us and ask the bartender for a spoon for our coffees. She didn't have the Krafty's good spirit that we've experienced with the rest of the staff in the past.
I had the eggs benedict which arrived on paper covering the tray instead of the plate. The eggs with perfect but you can imagine how cutting into that tore the paper and mixed with the egg. The eggs were also missing hollandaise sauce. The waitress said she would ask the cook what that was and later returned with some in a small cup. The home fries turned out to be tater tots (which was ok).
My wife had the veggie omelet and grits. The omelet was great. The grits were so hard that she couldn't get her fork in.
Dropped rating from 4 to 3. Good food experience from previous visits kept rating from being 1.
Tried to email owner using link on web site, but my email kept getting kicked back as undeliverable. So maybe this will reach him.
Update May 2020: After a year of visiting, the food continues to be great. If you dine when Nick and Amanda are preparing your meal, the food has an extra elegance and taste.
If the owner reads this, our only request is that your staff do a better job with the condiments tray. Often we have to raid other tables to find ketchup and mustard that aren't empty, or search for missing salt or...
Read moreThree friends and I went to Krafty's tonight and I can for the first time in my life say that there was nothing positive about this visit. Let's start with the service, or more appropriately the lack thereof. When we walked in there was nobody at the podium and no instructions whether to seat yourself or wait. After a few moments we decided to seat ourselves at a table. Roughly three minutes later a waitress came by and said let me grab you menus. About a minute or two later we got silverware and three menus, mind you this place may have 800 square feet of floorspace. Very quickly thereafter our drink order was taken, and when I said I wasn't sure yet the waitress seem annoyed and asked if I just wanted a water while I looked. A couple minutes later we got our beer and then we did not see our waitress near our table again. This is significant because we were able to finish our beer and she never came back to take our food order. The pictures posted are of our waitress standing around shooting the s**t and playing on her phone all while we waited to order some dinner. We watched her walk to the same table near the door at least three times while we waited, each time seemingly to just talk.
Let's move to the menu. Lord help you if you are a grammar/spelling person, do not read this menu. Their name is actually misspelled, amongst numerous other mistakes. The descriptions of the food are lackluster, especially when looking at the the prices being charged.
We were really excited about this place and were looking forward to good pub food and craft beers. However, there were very few taps and the food seemed high dollar for the offerings. We never saw our waitress again so we looked up the beer prices in the menu and left enough to cover that plus a $2 tip, that sadly was $2 too much for the service we received.
None of us will go back and I strongly suggest you avoid this place as well. We walked over to Kaze and had a great dinner and...
Read moreI went with my wife and 1 year old son. Right as we walked in, our first impression was the atmosphere felt like a dive bar but the reviews we saw on Google were decent so we decided to stay and order burgers for lunch. Since 'burgers' is in the restaurant's name and the reviews were decent, we had high hopes.
The table was dirty and felt a bit sticky in spots but we wiped it down ourselves.
They didn't have unsweetened tea which is what my wife and I tend to drink at restaurants. Our son drinks milk at restaurants but they didn't have that either so he had to drink water.
We ordered some burgers with fries and tots. When we got them, we started to eat. The ketchup from our table and several tables around us were empty. The waitress had to hunt for a ketchup bottle with ketchup in it. Shouldn't they fill these or check them at the end of the night?
At some point, the waitress took my cup to refill it and when my drink came back, I noticed a bug in it when I went to take a drink. After that, I could barely eat anymore because I wondered what might be in my burger. That didn't matter too much anyway because the burger was sub-par at best.
We had some leftovers but we didn't bother taking it with us like we tend to do at other restaurants.
The waitress was okay. She didn't go out of her way to make us feel like a valued customer. Sometimes I think some people are their just because it's a job. Regardless, we still left her a decent tip because that's the kind of people we are.
In conclusion, it wasn't a pleasant experience at all for us. I'm not sure how this place is getting decent reviews. Maybe we went on an off day or something. It doesn't matter though because we won't...
