First, when I pulled in, the drive-thru was backed up over halfway around the building. I decided to try my luck inside, as often the front counter is considerably less crowded. No luck here, it was slammed.
People, this is GOOD stuff. Yes, you wait a little longer. But there is a REASON so many people are willing to do so.
The staff was super busy, and you could see the stress on their faces. However, every single staff member I witnessed kept their cool, their patience with the impatient customers, and were proactive in trying to expedite orders, instead of standing around waiting for the next link in the chain to do their job. Individually in their positions, and as a team, the worked hard, efficiently, and never got snappy or rude.
Unless you have ever worked in food service, you have no idea what a monumental task that can be. Its a high stress environment, where you deal with people in a hurry, who often forget their social niceties. The ability to maintain at least a façade of a positive, customer oriented demeanor in the face of all that doesn't come easy. Most people leave the industry never having developed it at all.
In the 15 or so minutes I waited, they were in constant communication about the status of the orders, which was priority, how long till it was done, etc. I've never seen this type of coordination in a fast food place, only in mid to higher tier sit down restaurants. And often, even those are lacking it.
While I was waiting, they ran out of biscuits. During breakfast. A customer asked, jokingly but still chiding, "How ya'll run outta biscuits?"
I was asked if i would rather have my country ham on a roll instead. I asked how long the wait is, was told 10 minutes or so, which was not a question at all to me. I waited.
I have had them before, you see.
I guess he never had. If he had, it would have been obvious how they could run out. Bojangles, in my opinion, was always had a biscuit that ranked in the top 5 for me, maybe even top 3. Popeyes used to beat it handily, but they've slipped over the years.
I can get that biscuit straight out of the oven, in only 10 minutes? Yeah, I'm waiting.
It was so worth it. Hands down the best county ham biscuit of my life. I woulda waited another 15-20 minutes for a second one, had I not learned years ago to always just go ahead and order 2.
Yes, I only gave atmosphere a 3. It was crowded and loud and bright. Which is about what I expected, of course. But it was clean, and no-one goes to any fast food restaurant for atmosphere. If you do, here's a pro tip: your dates hate you.
It has been a while since I have been to a Bojangles, but I have always liked them. I really hope the rest of the franchise has upped their game like this location, or that I at least find my way back here the next time I am out that way.
To the manager: Please, thank your staff for me. To handle such volume, with orders piling from drive thru, counter, kiosk, and delivery, and still get the product this good.... helluva team...
Read moreHonestly, I used to love coming to this Bojangles. But that's when they got things right. I purchased a large and a medium fry and got half of a carton. I paid $5 basically for the large and $4 for a half carton of fries in both. Two sausage biscuits and a 4 peice tender combo and a medium Pepsi. I paid $30 for that and got jipped on every corner that could be cut ! She didn't think to actually wait on fresh fries for my order but instead told them to throw more fries down and split what would have been a large into three separated fries. A small that comes with the (4) peice supreme combo and the medium I got and the large I got for someone else and literally just split them down the middle and didn't even reach halfway up the carton of these fries at all. I'm pretty upset about paying this price for the services also. I asked the lady how she was and was very polite and she acted as if she was dog tired and drug her feet to make it to the counter after she saw me and I waited for her to walk around the store for a minute or so basically her body language told me she didn't want to help me with this and she just had the worst attitude when I greeted her and asked how she was doing. I've never really seen such terrible services and now I see that I am not the only one since they have a rating of 3.4 and honestly I don't think I would do business with this store again. It's a waste of money and the atmosphere from the employees are at best slummbed. My two sausage biscuits are hard as a rock and I'm honestly furious over this ! And the absolute worst part about this !! THEY WASNT...
Read moreI just left and this was the absolute WORST customer service I have experienced in a long time. If I was the owner I would have FIRED everyone that was working today. First went through the drive thru to be greeted by someone with no voice, after not veing able to understand or hear her clearly we politely asked her to please repeat herself... silence?... gave them the benefit of the doubt after not being able to hear her and went in. When I went in everyone looked liked chicken with their heads cut off, cursing, fussing, it was beyond tense and noticeable. Just a hot mess. 3 females walked up to the counter before I was finally greeted, make it funier they looked at me and aaid nothing? waited 5 more minutes before asking if anyone could take my order. More cursing... waiting I overheard staff talking loudly; someone had quit, that they hadn't been paid, that they were shutting down early at 5pm because they couldnt stand their jobs...way too much for a customer to witness and im assuming onky someone in leadership would have the ability to shut down early which qas really intereating hearing coming from her mouth? Beyond unprofessional and very disappointmenting!!!! My to go order took about 15-20min. It looked as if a bunch of children were running the show. I will NOT be back hopefully better luck at other locations. I do NOT reccommend visiting this location unless you enjoy drama and would like a dinner and movie. Wish I would have filmed everything so you could really see how bad it was. I would not trust the reviewers leaving 5 stars they have to be...
