On Sunday my hubby and I decided to check out the renovations that were recently finished on this particular McDonalds. We were especially interested in seeing what the new kiosk machines looked like as well as finding out how easy they were to use (or not), especially for older people who might not be too 'computer literate'. :)
We found that the kiosks were basically very easy to understand and use, and the Menu words and pictures are definitely large enough to see. Also, figuring out how to order a single item versus a meal, and something small, medium, or large wasn't hard at all.
These kiosks are very similar to using a cell phone in that you can move a 'page' up or down with your finger if you can't see everything posted on that particular 'page'.
You can pay by debit card/credit card at the kiosk or you can pay cash at the register (with a real person manning it!).
The only thing I don't know is how to get your sandwich WITHOUT something on it...like pickles or mustard. But then, we didn't order anything that needed something kept off of it. Thankfully, though, there seems to be one or two employees stationed by the kiosks for your "questioning pleasure". (They also tend to the tables/floors, keeping everything neat and clean.)
Now to the food we received: We ordered a Double Quarter Pounder w/cheese meal and a Fish filet meal. Both meals...meat, fish, fries...were cooked just fine. The Sweet Tea was a bit overpowering in the 'sweet' department', though. They could easily cut the sugar down by a third of what they're now putting in and it'd still be sweet...just not "teeth-curling" sweet as it was, yesterday. Also, the tea tasted 'old'.
Also, it seems the employees may have forgotten that their soda machine doesn't make it's own ice but, instead, has to be manually filled by an employee just like the Sweet Tea 'pot' which also has to be filled manually.
BOTH WERE EMPTY WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO FILL OUR DRINK CUPS RIGHT AFTER ORDERING AND BEFORE SITTING DOWN...(Thankfully, one of the employees stationed by the kiosks got our ice tea and ice water.) AND THEY REMAINED EMPTY WHILE WE ATE OUR FOOD THERE, CURIOUSLY WONDERING JUST WHEN SOMEONE WOULD COME OUT FROM IN BACK AND REFILL THESE TWO ITEMS. NOPE...NEVER SAW ANYONE REFILL THE ICE, THE SWEET TEA OR, FOR THAT MATTER, ANYTHING ELSE.
Overall, this McDonalds is still basically like all the others except that this one now uses kiosks for food ordering.
Oh...and upon entering this building, WATCH YOUR STEP! The floor was being washed at the entrance AND NO MOP SIGN WAS PUT OUT! In fact, just about the entire area where customers walk to get to a kiosk or the register was very wet! (Thankfully, I was looking down and caught myself as I started to slide!)
True, it's possible that this No Mop Sign situation was a one-time occurrence but then, it only takes one time for someone to slip, fall, and SUE. THE EMPLOYEES AT THIS MCDONALDS NEED TO BE TRAINED THAT "NO SIGNS WARNING THE PUBLIC OF FLOORS BEING WET MEANS LAWSUITS IF A PERSON SLIPS AND FALLS!"...and that employees could possibly...
Read moreI understand that McDonald's get busy at some point. I understand that workers are put up under pressure when they get busy with customers attitudes. So when something is not right or how I ordered it I tried to remain calm and patient. I visit this location and I asked for my food to be a certain way and the young white lady I don't know if she's in charge or not was trying to give me exactly what I asked for but when my food was being made and being questioned the heavy set lady with the pink dreads has something smart to say and I heard her so I'll address her and let her know we both are human if you can't do something let me know and I can understand it but don't let me hear you say something smart to another coworker and think that is not going to be addressed I don't know if the lady with the pink dreads is in charge or the young white lady is in charge but if the lady with the pink dress is in charge you guys need to reevaluate your decision on who's in charge because this is the reason on social media you see people getting into it at McDonald's or different restaurants because the workers have something smart to say or the customer has something smart to say in this case McDonald's worker has something to me Yes I addressed it but I didn't say anything out the way to her I just let her know the disrespect is not going to be tolerated please respect me she did apologize but it still need to be addressed and someone need to give her a customer service evaluation I used to be the manager at foot locker for 5 years before I started my own trucking company. Sometimes workers need evaluation. Be blessed, stat strong. The picture I am posting I did not get it from this location but this is how I wanted...
Read moreIt was the worst experience ever at Mcdonalds actually anywhere. I have been a Store manager for a fast food place for years. I completely understand almost every where is short staffed, but this was by far horrible service. 1st the told me they were out if strawberry pies so I ask if they could drop some. She proceeds to tell me it will take 15 mins. U know, and whoever reads this know pies DONT take that long. I ordered 4 McChickens 2 of them with extra onion. That DIDNT hapoen at all. Oh I had to repeat UT to her 3 times to begin with. One if her questions was what kind of onion then they DIDNT even put them on there. Before I ask her to drop the pies all my daughter wanted was a chocolate shake. I tell her large Chocolate Shake, and just like almost all the mcdonalds there was no ice cream cause they had broke the machine down, and DIDNT want to get it dirty again. Do I know that 4 a FACT? NO I DONT! Im going off how they acted very LAZY! When I was placeing my order at the window. I heard every word she said to the girl up front. I guess she don't know how to work that head set. If she did she wouldn't have wanted some1 to hear what she said. I tried to call up there about the onions, but the number was disconnected another Mcdonalds said its cause corporate owns it. I would love to get what I paid for. My only suggestion to McDonalds is even though its really hard to find help right now ask yourself would you rather have a staff full of people(I don't think that would even help West Franklin McDonalds) or great customer service, and customers get what they ordered, and paid...
