The food here is incredible, and the owner and staff treat you like family. We stopped by on a cold Friday night with our dog for dinner and some drinks. Yes, they allow dogs to join you indoors for your meal!

They had a solid beer selection with interesting choices. The ginger cider was a great option too as it wasn't too sweet. The Perogi grilled cheese was savory and filling and was served with a tangy sause for dipping. My wife loved the huge blue cheese burger, our dog even got to enjoy some grilled chicken from doggie menu. Towards rhe end of the night, the owner brought out his dog to meet us and our dog!

We came back another day and ordered more drinks and the Buffalo chicken dip. They served it on a big homemade roll, and the bread was crunchy on the outside, but soft and warm on the inside. It soaked up the dip but wasn't soggy on the outside so was easy to eat. We barely needed the tortilla chips that were served next to it. My wife and I are well traveled and enjoy trying new restaurants, and this was one of the best appetizers I've ever had.

After enjoying the dip, we dropped off our dog and went on a winery tour. The staff was great about assuring us that he wouldn't be a bother if he gets a little loud and that they would walk him if he got restless. The owner's dog was there too, so our pup had a friend in the kennel right next to his. When we came back after about 4 hours, he was contentedly sleeping next to his cot.

On both days, the owner and his staff treated us and our dog like family, and I can't recommend this establishment any more highly. They had the best food and service on the entire Geneva-on-the -Lake strip! Stop by if you're in the area, even if you're not a dog person. You wont be...

First before I go on with how much I enjoyed this restaurant and for those who don't wish to read a lot, the food and service was great.

Now for the full review. I love that they let you bring your dog. They have seating inside and outside for those with dogs. They have a separate seating area for those who don't wish to dine with other people and their dogs. So something for everyone really.

The food was really good. Came out quick and tasted great. We had the Shrimp basket and Chicken Bacon Wrap. The staff were very friendly even offered to take our picture when we were leaving.

This was our first time bringing Buddy (our dog) to a restaurant or patio for that matter. He enjoyed that he had his own menu and loved the scrambled eggs. They gave Buddy his own water bowl. I think there were only 2 other dogs there when we were but they seemed very well behaved. Buddy says he gives Ruff Life 4 paws and one wagging tail. (5...

Super cute place ! Love the interior and has so much “stuff” to look at. I just love the concept all around. The owner was so pleasant & friendly and the young man who took care of our order very kind. The food was yummy. Kinda reminded me of “bar food” simple, fried but really good. My only problem I have with this great little spot is that every single thing is just so “bulk” purchased, manufactured, cheap, I don’t know how to say it. Ruff Life on the Lake has a “Boutique” feel when you walk in with “Boutique” prices but the merchandise (or the majority of it) especially the dog & cat toys is cheap. I certainly spent a good amount while I was there ( cause that’s what I do) I wish I could have bought more. No t-shirt sizes in stock, no sweatshirt sizes in stock ( they ran very small ) I will be back and hopefully I can find something’s I can’t find in a box store or online myself. I definitely...

Fun and unique eatery and niche shopping destination located on the GOTL boardwalk area. I went on a windy Monday afternoon with my wife and daughter, and we were treated very well, even as we were the only ones eating since it was the early weekday afternoon. I originally got the crab cake sandwich, but was told they had ran out of that option, but was quickly offered a replacement and an honest apology. I got the blackened salmon BLT wrap, and it was quite good. I also grabbed a local beer, which was a nice touch. The store that likely drives the business overall has all minds of kitschy dog merchandise (the whole place is fully dog friendly and even had a canine food menu), and though we didn't buy any of the merchandise, it was fun to look around. Certainly a worthy stop for dog lovers and those looking for a more unique bite to eat when in the area.

This place has really gone to the dogs... literally😀 Ruff Life on the Lake is a very pet friendly place to visit. The food was very good and the portions were nice. Prices were average. You order your food cafe style. You order and pay for the food at the counter and then there deliver to your table. The patio atmosphere was excellent. Besides the tables on the patio, there was a grassy area with Cornhole to play. A small corner area with a privacy fence was provided for your dog to do their business. There is also a small retail store with pet friendly items available and they also provide pet sitting if you need to drop your pet off to walk around the town. Definitely worth the visit. Even if you do not have a pet, the food and the customer service is worth stopping by.
