Update: Got a response from the owner two years after this review was placed. They claimed that the drinks I took pix of were not created from their business. Nice try… just because you upgraded your plastic cupware, doesn’t mean at one time you used to sell drinks in these types of cups.
To add more substance, you can even see in other reviewers’ photos that the same cup style seen in my pics was used 1-2 years ago. I know taro should be purple, but that night we got it, it wasn’t purple. I’m not removing this review. 🤷♀️ This visit was back in 2023 I think.
Original Review: $32 worth of 4 boba tea… down the drain :(
This is the worst boba tea I’ve ever had. I ordered matcha green tea. It was bitter, not sweet. It was not even green as the website depicted. Even the tapioca pearls were uncooked and hard to chew.
As for my family, they ordered taro milk tea and it was the same situation: bitter, unsweetened milk tea with hard boba. When my husband told the employee about the bitter drink, the man said that taro is “supposed to taste like that”. Simply untrue. We are avid milk tea drinkers and this is not what boba milk tea tastes like. Taro milk tea should taste like sweet cereal milk which is why my husband and daughter frequently order that flavor. It was not even purple as the website photo.
I want to also mention that the employee said he didn’t have matcha green tea powder. He offered to use green tea bags to make my drink instead. When we said that’s not how matcha green tea is made, he said he will try to find more powder in the back. Whether or not he used powder, it was still an unpleasant taste.
Instead of fixing our drinks, we left the store with bitter concoctions. I am confused why this business has 5 stars. Was the employee new/inexperienced? Did he have poor work ethic? Or maybe it was a bad day for him? Whatever the case may be, unfortunately, we will not be visiting this establishment again. Please look into these issues and the milk tea will probably improve.

Read moreUPDATED REVIEW * We had the chance to revisit bolicious tea, and now THIS is what we were expecting when a boba tea place came into town. We loved the variety of flavors, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The tea itself and boba was also delicious this time. It really seems like the new ownership has turned this place around!
Original review: My partner and I are huge fans of bubble tea, and we were really excited to have a local bubble tea place in Howell. I hate to leave anything but a positive review, but I really want to see this place stick around so I’m leaving some actionable feedback so hopefully they can improve! I plan to delete this if future visits improve.
Tried this shop for the first time the other day. We had the brown sugar and taro milk tea with tapioca pearls, standard bubble tea drinks. We asked for half sweet, but we were informed that wasn’t an option, despite the store’s Instagram account saying otherwise. The brown sugar flavor was very good, and the taro was good but didn’t really taste like taro, and also did not look like taro (I would expect it to be purple, but it was brown). And unfortunately, the bubbles were barely edible as it seems like they were barely cooked, saying this from experience from cooking tapioca pearls at home. Also, the drinks were somewhat small for the price imo, compared to other boba shops I’ve been to.
I will be interested to see what the popping pearls and the other flavored jellies would be like, it is great they have a lot of selection. Really hoping these possible growing pains can be worked out soon for the shop, because I love the idea and the concept they...
Read moreNot a great experience. I ordered a lychee fruit tea and requested green tea as the base instead of black tea. I was told there would be a 3-4 minute wait to brew the green tea, which I said was fine. I also requested less sweet and less ice, which is a standard option at any boba place I've ever been to. The girl told me they couldn't make it less sweet, I'm pretty sure you just add less syrup, but I didn't want to argue so I said OK. 10-15 minutes later I was still waiting while they were making other customers drinks who came in after me. Then the girl calls out my drink and I think, "finally". But she hadn't made my drink, she wanted to let me know that they had run out of tapioca pearls, both kinds. That was the whole reason I was there in the first place. And to make things worse, customers who came in after me ordered and received tapioca pearls. I paid over $8 for the drink so I think I was either charged for extra tapioca or there's an upcharge for less ice. There are very limited boba options in the area so I really wanted to like this place, but this was pretty infuriating. I might give them another try when I don't feel like making...
