My family and I dined at this IHOP in Georgetown today (Sunday) at 10am. The restaurant was clean and the hostess who greeted us was lovely.
When the time came, I ordered a simple sandwich, the same sandwich I always order at any IHOP, which wasn’t on the menu. Our server, Brittany, informed me that they don’t carry this item and couldn’t make it. Thinking maybe she was new, I explained that I always order this and wouldn’t mind paying extra for it. She then went to speak to her manager and came back to inform me that they would have to charge me double (about $20) for this simple sandwich. I proceeded to ask to speak to the manager, thinking maybe I wasn’t being clear as to what I wanted.
The manager came out, we spoke, and he understood what I wanted. He said it no problem. He and Brittany then began arguing in front of us and the tables around us.
As we waited for our food to come out, we asked Brittany if we could order a cup of coffee and she responded with, “I’m not your waitress anymore.” The tone she used was extremely rude and we were taken aback.
We waited for a while for someone to come around to check on us, but no one ever did. I had to go up to the hostess (super sweet lady!) to ask who our new server was so we could order some coffee.
When our food comes out, I realize they STILL got my order wrong. Now I’m getting irritated. I flag down the manager and show him my plate. He takes the plate, with no apologies or kindness, to have the kitchen re-make my food. About 10 minutes later, my sandwich comes out and it’s correct. It was brought out by our new server, not the manager.
Not once, after we were served, did the manager check to see how we were doing. I guess he was upset with me-why is HE upset with ME? Throughout the whole visit I remained calm and polite. Not that I expect anything from IHOP, but no discount or extra coffee, NOTHING was offered to try to make up for the terrible experience we were having.
As I was leaving, I saw the manager and I gave him a genuine “thank you”. He barely looked at me and did not respond.
Honesty, it’s completely understandable how an employee like Brittany is still employed with a manager like him running the show. He was rude, she was rude.
Such a disappointing experience for something that should have been so simple. As a small business owner who is in the food business, I KNOW it’s not difficult to give customers what they are asking for. I also KNOW that they have many choices, so when they choose to dine at my establishment, I want to give them a quality product and a smile. I want them to WANT to come back. Shame on this IHOP for treating their customers like a burden. There are too many other good restaurants in the area. We will certainly not be back. Two stars-one for the cleanliness and one for the adorable hostess who almost made up for the...
Read moreToday, June 19th my family went to IHOP Georgetown, Texas. It had been years since I was at this IHOP and it was great service and food. However, this is what occurred. We were told they are short staffed and waited around 20 min to be seated but was hardly anyone there. An older lady was very sweet and another older lady took our order (also sweet). When the food was served however, different story. My food was edible but not really hot but my daughters food was not. A fruit order never served. A sandwich for one of my daughters was not edible people coming after us were served first. Attitudes in this restaurant were so unprofessional and stiff I wanted to walk out the door. The floors were not clean. Then my daughter had decided she was not going to pay for some of the food not edible and asked politely to speak to the manager to ask about reducing the bill as like I said, some not edible and fruit order never put on the table but charged. Manager did not come immediately so my grandkids and one daughter walked outside while the manager took her time to even talk to the one paying. After we waited outside a long time in the heat I walked back inside to find out why this was taking so long. A good manager would be quickly attending to a complaint and helpful but not this one. Talk about a chip on her shoulder. My daughter was asking for a pen to write down what was edible and what was not. Not one staff answered, looked at her or helped. I asked a lady where the manager was and no kidding she said in a look that was unbelievable she called police. SHE was the manager. Called the police???? What for??? Here the police come. Talk about a sorry place, and not kidding, this manager must be removed as she has ZERO customer service. My daughter talked to the police and said she would pay full price but there’s a price to pay here now and it’s a terrible review. Shut the place down if they can charge these prices but not deliver the goods and service. The manager, Kimberly, was out of place, rude and bet the staff don’t dare cross her. Calling corporate ASAP and not letting this go. Had my small grandkids there and this Kimberly (the so called manager) calls the police over a mistake her establishment made not any of us. If you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen. This is what happened so if you don’t want Kimberly calling the police on you don’t complain about her food just FYI. Never going b there again ever and since we are local we will not refer her future guests. Anyone who has had this type of experience should say so. Food inspector needs to go there as gnats were around the food. From the grandmother not the younger ones....
Read moreIf I could do ZERO stars I would!!! When we arrived they weren’t crazy busy but they were steady so we had to wait 5-10 minutes not a problem! We get called to be seated and don’t get addressed for about 5 minutes or so until Jillian/Jullian (whatever her name was) says we’ll be with you shortly.. she then comes and asks our drink order.. not much of a personality but hey they’re busy so what can you expect in a customer service job!?! Gets our drinks, asks about our order. I always start with the food allergies my children have, NOT BY THEIR CHOICE OBVIOUSLY! Which are dairy and eggs, so serve they require EPI PENS! We get hash browns, sausage and bacon for our kids with allergies. We ask that they clean a part of the grill if it’s associated with their dairy and eggs. She proceeds to tell me, “ Oh we are too busy for that..” They already have stuff going and they won’t clean it to accommodate that!” I was shocked and disappointed we have such disgusting, disrespectful, low quality and unprofessional people in this world! I get being busy and it being an inconvenience, imagine how my child feels, you sorry excuse for a human. They have to go through limitations due to their allergies as it is and you just said sorry seats taken and dismissed them! You are in CUSTOMER SERVICE, you chose this job and this jobs comes with inconveniences!! I would have been fine waiting and allowing you the time to accommodate our special and time consuming needs! She was very unprofessional and I asked to speak to the manager! My children got their cups and I told my husband to take them and I would handle the bill for THEIR DRINKS and speak my mind of the situation! I am speaking to the manager (Douglas) who was respectful and didn’t want to risk my kids food getting contaminated because they were busy and basically couldn’t ensure the grill being cleaned. I am about to say I want to pay for their drinks when said unprofessional waitress comes back and talks loudly and points to my kid saying, “ She is taking a drink, they didn’t pay for!” The manager says the drinks are free, I said ain’t no way, I’m paying cause I WANT nothing from this facility! Do BETTER IHOP! Will never return and I hope she loses her job for this because I’m sorry not sorry, you disrespected kids with allergies and your in the FOOD industry! Proof of my receipt for the 4 kid drinks! $12 for my kids to be mistreated,...
