Church’s Chicken — 5630 Riverdale Road, Store #5335 Review:
Customer service is trash at best!!
If you value your TIME, MONEY, SANITY, and BASIC RESPECT as a paying customer, avoid this location like the plague. This store is run with zero professionalism, poor training, and one of the rudest managers I’ve ever encountered in my life. And the fact that this woman, a Jamaican sister, is treating her own community like this in a predominantly Black neighborhood? It’s beyond disrespectful—it’s a disgrace.
Timeline of Disrespect & Chaos:
March 8th, 2025: First Visit
Ordered the Tuesday Special (2-piece for $2.99) with add-ons: apple pie, drink, peppas, biscuit.
Drive-thru worker clearly untrained, fumbling the order.
Got the wrong order (two limp chicken tenders and coleslaw when I ordered bone-in).
Tried calling the store a dozen times. No answer.
March 9th, 2025: Returned to Store
Came back with my receipt in hand, expecting simple resolution.
Manager greeted me with a nasty, dismissive attitude.
Refused to fix the mistake unless I brought back the food (despite me having my receipt and NO ONE answering phones to tell me the process the day before).
Manager was barking at her staff the day prior over this exact order—her energy? STILL nasty.
Sat in the parking lot calling customer service, while a worker came outside and CONFIRMED: She could’ve just replaced my meal but chose instead to run her mouth, lying about me not having proof.
March 17th, 2025: Gave Them One More Chance (Mistake #1)
Came back hoping maybe it was a one-off bad day.
Ordered a 3-piece combo. Food came out dark, dry, flavorless.
Called thinking I’d get corporate—guess who answers? Same disrespectful manager.
Asked for a regional/supervisor. She barked: “I’M the manager. What’s the problem?”
Told her SHE’S the problem.
She responded: “Oh, I know who this is.” Claimed they tried to call me but—no missed calls, no voicemails. Another lie.
Talking reckless to me like I’m beneath her, like I’m bothering her. Ma’am, how you yelling at me like this? We’re from the same community! How you treating your own people this way?!
She hung up in my face.
Customer Service:
I’ve called corporate FIVE TIMES.
Every time:
“We’ll escalate it.”
“Someone will call you.”
Weeks later—crickets. Zero accountability
BIGGER ISSUE:
What adds INSULT to INJURY? This woman is Jamaican, in a predominantly Black neighborhood, and has the nerve to treat her own people with this kind of nastiness and lack of care. Where’s the respect for your own community? For your elders, your peers, the people keeping this store running with our dollars? It’s bigger than chicken—it’s how you show up and treat folks, period.
Final Thoughts:
Poor training.
Zero customer service.
Unprofessional, rude, aggressive management.
Disrespectful to paying customers AND to the community she’s supposed to serve.
Corporate is no better—no accountability, no resolution
Bottom Line:
If you want to be disrespected, lied to, and served trash food by someone who clearly doesn't care about her job OR her people, by all means, pull up. Otherwise, take your money somewhere that values YOU. This store is a walking example of how NOT to run a business or serve your community.

I just stopped in and ordered a simple two piece for myself and asked them to please make sure that my okra is cooked because I came home with cold okra last night which left me with inedible okra basically (I don't know if you've tried cold okra but it's not good).... The manager on duty decides to crack jokes that I should of had a deep fryer at home & I'm laughing cause I really am humored at the fact she thought it was funny I couldn't finish my last minute dinner last night. I get the order & realized I didn't order my 3 peppers for a dollar after already running my card so I asked the cashier would she mind if I could just get 'one pepper', she said that'll be 39¢ & I'm like are you serious, I bought food from you I couldn't eat last night & you want to run my card a second time for 39¢?.... THEN the manager cracks another joke saying, bet you'll think about getting a deep fryer... Honestly that's the second time I had these ghetto folks crack jokes & I'm truly trying to pretend like I'm cool and not offended. I've been in the hospitality industry for 18 years & there's really some lines that shouldn't be crossed. The young lady that took my order both times was so rude, disrespectful and absolutely horrible I will never go back. She didn't listen to what I said I ordered, when I got to the windows to pay I told the lady what I had wanted and she stated, "Oh no ma'am we have that special here" I said the young lady told me it wasn't available but if you have it can I please get it, she said no problem and told the young lady we have this special here, the young lady huffed in aggravation and yelled we can't change the order now.
