I ordered the country breakfast to go which consisted of Country fried Steak, two eggs a biscuit. and the hash brown casserole. I asked the the girl taking my order If it came with country gravy because I would like that on the side, not knowing if they would put it all over the Country fried steak. I got my order and came home. I live a few miles from this location. I open the bag and I see gravy on the side and Said to myself, that’s good. I proceeded to open the box that had all the other food in it, and there sits another country gravy. So now I’m thinking, did they charge me for an additional side of gravy? Yeah they did. I have no idea when I asked for my gravy on the side whether the girl was listening or not that’s not my problem. I did address it. I sat down to eat it and being a country boy I want to taste the country fried steak first. That was a mistake. This piece of country fried steak was cold overcooked and it tasted like they made it as a batch at 6 o’clock in the morning and here it is 9:45 AM. It was probably the worst country fried steak I ever put in my mouth. I know I couldn’t really microwave it so I put it In the air fryer for 60 seconds just to warm it up. Then I took the gravy and I poured it on top. What a mistake that gravy was at best lukewarm, yuck! So here I am eating only the hash brown casserole the biscuit and the eggs. I’ve had their chicken before excellent fried chicken, but I wanted to try something different. And if the fried pork chop is just like the country fried steak, no thank you will never order that. I don’t think I should waste my time on a call because I might get the cashier who waited on me And I didn’t feel like lecturing her about listening to the customer. I’d say I spent $15 with tip included. It wasn’t worth four dollars. I’m not telling you to avoid this restaurant but I will tell you to avoid the country fried steak And tell them to make sure the gravy is Hot. There’s nothing worse than country gravy that is lukewarm to cool and a cold, overdone Piece ofCountry fried steak This was NOT an enjoyable experience.
Update to the original review:
I recently went back and met with the manager, Mary Lou. We had a long talk about everything from my original issue to numerous things that Feed the Well BBQ & Biscuit Barn is currently doing not just as a restaurant but for the community I was utterly amazed how involve they are with the hungry and the homeless and for this I give them five stars across the board. Mary Lou requested that I tried them again which I did. I ordered a little chicken basket with sausage, gravy, potato tots, and a biscuit which she went ahead and comped. She even offered me my money back from the original order which I refused to take because it wasn’t for the money or a free meal it was just to make things right which she did. Everything came out hot and tasty I will go back again. As I mentioned previously that they work with a charitable organization which the owners started. I even handed her a $10 bill and said this is for your charitable cause. I hope to be returning to the eatery in the next week or two because they always have specific specials of the day...
Read moreI will not be doing business here again. I've been getting awkward vibes from a woman that works at the 2nd drive thru window. Not everytime I go there, but everytime I go and she's there. I ignore the awkward look & smirk each time, but this time it couldn't be ignored. This morning, I drive up to the 2nd drive thru window, and there she is with my bag clutched in her hands, she ever so slowly approaches the window, with a smirk on her face, then have the nerve to ask me.. what's wrong? Right before she hands me the bag! (I'm thinking.. Wow! Seriously?!) I said nothing's wrong.. then she just stands there for a few seconds, then I said.. ummm.. where's my coke? Then she says.. that's what's wrong, you don't have your coke. Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this isn't about a damn coke. Hopefully management (if they give a damn) or the owner have cameras set up at the windows, and they can see for themselves I ain't making this shit up. Morning of 10/28/25 around 8am, I drive a white Silverado. For the record, the lady at the 1st drive thru window is...
Read moreWe came in realizing that they closed thirty minutes until they closed, but the cashier welcomed us with a “come on in.” Extremely friendly service, big portions, tasty and affordable food. You can choose either plastic or metal silverware. I used the men’s restroom, which was single-stall, clean, and had paper towels rather than the annoying air drying thing. I got two egg and cheese biscuits, grits, banana pudding, and an unsweetened tea. Everything was tasty and I was too full to finish it all as the biscuits were quite big- I can eat a lot lol. They took many people very close to closing and all employees (including the food runner, who was a younger gentleman) were extremely friendly. I also paid for three people getting whatever they wanted and it only came up to $35. I wanted to leave a thorough review because great service and food deserve it. We aren’t from around here, so we are happy that we happened to see it on the side...
