I just had the worst customer service experience at this establishment. I’m an educator who brought a group of children for a Funtime of bowling. I made arrangements 2 weeks in advance to prepare for our visit. I was told was I thought to be accurate information and even called the night before to remind them of our visit.
When I arrived with a group of children, I was told that Junction Lanes would not honor what I was told when I arranged this trip and that I would have to pay a daycare rate. She indeed acknowledged that I was misinformed by the previous employee and offered no other concession.
In an effort to not disappoint a group of excited children, I paid the fee reluctantly. She never told me the terms of what was being offered. As the children were playing the employees kept a constant eye on our group (of well behaved children). The lady kept coming over to our group to remind of things that could go wrong with the bumpers and ramps even though there was no issue. The final straw was when we were only allowed to play one game and it was cut off before every child had finished.
I approached the counter to inquire on why we were unable to finish our games and she said, “Well you only get one game.” I told her it was my understanding that we got 2 games and she said well that was with what the first employee told you and we have addressed that with our staff. I asked what about the concession to your customers who were told incorrect information and that I had already come out of additional monies I wasn’t expecting. She basically said, “Well I don’t know what to tell you because you only get one game.” There was no apology for their mistake and no empathy for the children that expected to play another game. I told her this level of customer service was disappointing and she still didn’t seem to care as I packed all of the children up to leave.
I would hate to make this about racial bias but I must add that we were a group of predominantly African American patrons that clearly didn’t get the same unwanted attention and bad service that the other patrons received.
Junction Lanes, I will be relaying this information to all parents involved to not patronize your establishment. This was a missed opportunity for birthday parties, parent group gatherings, field trips, and play date...
Read moreI bowled in this house this past weekend for the Georgia state Queens tournament. While the shot was awful, that comes with the territory for a tournament of this caliber. However, it was very ill staffed and managed by the staff ad Junction Lanes. There weren't enough lane attendants to keep up with the scoring, dropping pins, not set pins and breakdowns. Given that the pace was extremely slow, so slow in fact that after our first 2 games our set was nearly an entire game behind the rest of the tournament.
There were no lane servers to bring us food or drink. This is a big deal at a tournament such as this, because you aren't permitted to leave the lanes. I actually bowled 3 games before someone else's spectator offered to fetch a cold drink for me as well.
The pit area was very dirty, sticky and clearly unwashed from the previous day. The setup is confusing for people because the spectator seats are in/on the same tile as the pit area, which is supposed to be ONLY for bowlers. It's a safety issue. However, I saw young children with sippy cups, husbands and many other non bowlers occupying and running around in the bowler's pit area.
Before we could start the tournament, a staff member from the house had to come out and sweep the approaches of 6 lanes which were dusty and dirty.
Lastly, I saw with my own eyes a staff member retrieve a dead wood pin from 3/4 of the way down the lane and step both feet on the oiled lane during game 5. I was just glad that I didn't have to bowl on that pair.
I would think that being chosen to host a state Queen's or any other USBC sanctioned tournament would be cause for extra effort on the part of the house, as to me I would think it's an honor.... However, the effort I saw was less than should be afforded any patron, much less USBC tournament bowlers.
Our state tournament is actually there next month. Since I am already signed up and have to bowl there, they will get another chance from me.... But, if the conditions are not better, I will never bowl...
Read moreHow about a drink from there eating area one day they give free refills for free the other day they don’t get refills and then if you’re bowling there, I recommend you protect your shoes. The floors are filthy every time you get on the lanes you stick cardinal sin for Bowling Maintain cleanliness, This Bowling establishment won’t last long because people are getting fed up with the filthy floors. You need to strip them get all that gunk and everything else that sticks to your shoes off the floors and proceed from There Just got a message from Ryan Huber today His remedy is to ban people who voice opinions instead of fixing the problems. I think that is a sign of the future of Junction Lanes. Be feels I was to harsh about the conditions on the center. Sounds like free speech isn’t so free. Good luck Ryan .👏 This guy must be a tyrant and his employees probably fear their jobs. I just for word from my friends, they will strip the floor . I guess It’s being noticed. I thought these reviews were there to help them better serve the public. I guess it’s not smart to upset the owner because you can be banned for saying your peace I just heard today through some friends that they finally stripped the floors in the bowling alley. It took a squeaky wheel to get it done. I might not be able to bowl there anymore, but at least the people will be safe and there won’t be any accidents. it took a little crying and banning somebody who opened his mouth to get it done. Good luck. oh yes, I forgot to say posting some signage, making some clear clarity in some of the perks that they give to Lee bowlers and regular people who come in to use the establishment would help in dissolving or preventing any disagreement in the future. It would probably be good to post signage stating what your roles procedures and...
