MOLDY TOMATOS! My wife, best friend and I went to Johnny's yesterday (as I've done 50x before) because normally the food is very good and the service outstanding. Haha what a joke it was for us, Dec 28th, when we found a VERY MOLDY TOMATO in my wife's salad. The waitress did not replace the salad and even charged us for it! When I told her to check the back for more, she laughed. I worked in the restaurant industry for 8 years and lived in Mexico for 5. I have never been served moldy food EVER until yesterday. The best part, besides the manager not coming out to even apologize even though I could see the disgust and shame on the faces of employees as they admired the tomato in the kitchen, the waitress actually came back and said "the manager says thank you, we found many more just like it in the back". Like WTF!! In theory the picture on my wife's phone of us holding the moldy tomato could probably shut that place down, or at least hopefully scare them into cleaning up their act. Contacted Hannah told her my order and explicitly begged her to check my order to make sure it is correct before it left the store she agreed, told her a 10 dollar tip is in order for her doing so. The driver Jake when asked at the door is my order correct he said I dont know.....Handed him 60 dollars for a 25 dollar order. 10 went to Hannah as promised , the rest for him. Absolutely; outrageously frustrating to beg and pay extra for their staff , to please get the order correct. If I pay well ,I should have the right to demand good service. Read moreMade a mistake and purchased 2 of the Local Flavours prepaid certificate for $20 of food. Tried the restaurant the other night and wish we had not gotten 1 much less 2 of the certificates. Now feel obligated to go back to use the other one. Food isn't as good as other Johnny's in the area. Sauce didn't have that great slow cooked flavor. More like out of the can taste. Sausage still tough on the casing. Should have been grilled longer or cooked longer or get a different sausage. Hate to think we either have to throw away the purchase price of the certificate or go back for another try. Will probably do the return for one more try. Will update after that try. Went back and used our second certificate. Have to say it was better than the first time. Still glad to have both certificates used and out of the way. Now we don't feel obligated to go back....
