It was date night and I wanted tacos. As I am open to new places, I let him choose and he chose La Fiesta - Fairburn.
Pulling in, as the restaurant is in the shopping with Publix the traffic is crazy. La Fiesta - Fairburn sits in the corner in a weird area which makes the parking limited and tight. However, I was able to find a parking spot and we were ready to eat.
Walking in, the hostess area is very spacious. There is a waiting area to the left for to-go orders, and the bar is directly in front of you. The host was at the stand and welcomed us when we walked in. We were able to be seated immediately and were taken into the main area. The main area is HUGE. There are booths along the wall and tables in the middle. The lighting is bright and there are multiple televisions along the wall.
As this was date night, I was not in love with the ambiance. Though there is nothing specifically wrong with the environment as a whole, considering the conversational aspect of date night and being in the middle of a large room, it wasn’t the best environment for a date. However, it’s ideal for friends, family, or even a date night that’s not as conversation heavy… Once seated, the hostess provided the table with chips and salsa and advised our waiter would be with us shortly.
Our waitress arrived at our table and was ready for our drink orders. She was very nice and welcomed us to La Fiesta - Fairburn. Upon placing our drink orders she gave us some time to review the menu. the menu is simple so you won’t feel overwhelmed and has all of the general items to cure any taco themed desire.
Once our waitress was back, I placed my order for the Birria Tacos (comes with 3) and a side of Mexican Rice.

Once the food came, I was excited. Everything looked amazing.
The rice was spot on. It was exactly what I desired. Tender, well seasoned, and authentic to the flavor profile of Mexican Rice. I ate the entire plate of rice and was not upset with my carb based consumption. lol.
The Birria Tacos were visually appealing. The corn based shell didn’t pair well for me with the meat and consome blend. The shell was super grainy and had a flavor profile that overpowered the consome. The meat was tender but not soft, it was a texture that was fitting for the shell but it didn’t melt in my mouth like I’m accustomed to. I will admit, these will not be on my must have list. If I were to come back, I would try something different. However, I will always get the rice!
Our Takeaways: Not good for a first date. Don’t get the Birria if you aren’t a corn shell lover. The Rice is a MUST HAVE. The service is good. Parking is weird. Ambiance is Vibrant.
With that said… Go get...
Read moreThe drinks were GOOD, but the food was not. I had the chicken quesadilla with added spinach and onions, and they used frozen spinach versus fresh spinach. It threw the taste off for me. The hostess was our waitress, and we also had the manager and a young guy, who smelled like he just hit the blunt, wait on us. The manager brought our queso out after we got our entrees. When we mentioned that our margaritas weren't Texas margaritas, he took our glasses to the bar, added more liquor and brought the glasses back to the table. He didn't know which glass belonged to us. When we mentioned it to him, he asked us if we were married, related, or dating...huh?! Does that mean we should be okay drinking each other's backwash? Can I get my original drink, or better yet, can I get a fresh drink?! Anyhoo, The ladies' bathroom was nasty, and if I remember correctly, they didn't have either soap or paper towels. I can't recall which one it was, but I remember being disgusted because one was missing. Also, the floors were EXTREMELY slippery. I told the hostess and the manager, but neither one seemed concerned. Maybe they have extra settlement money in a closet somewhere. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because the first round of drinks were good and strong. I probably won't ever return. Good luck to...
Read moreOh Lord, where do I start. There are ups and downs with this place. My family and i had frequented here literally every week for a small get together, just to see eachother. The service used to be great, but over the last few months it transformed. The service attentiveness dropped like a step hill until it fell like a friggn grand canyon cliff. The turnover rate seemed ridiculous but that's a moot point. Twenty minute wait times for drinks, never being checked on, waiting on our checks for 20+ minutes, tables of dishes so full you couldn't even put a cup on it, hostesses bartenders and waitresses pilfering, leaning against walls and chat amongst themselves while people need service. Just ignoring people. The last straw was when I brought these problems to the manager's attention (especially the trash on the table) and after waiting over 20 minutes I just said screw it and cleaned the 7 people at our tables, all of whom had drinks (which had never been picked up) and dinner, and piled the dishes a foot and a half high and wide on the bar. Lord pray for the manager, this place will eventually most likely go to the dumps without change unless this is what we (and I'm sure a few of us will figure out who we refers to) expect. Disrespect. After more than 2 years of every week , 8-14 of us will...
