I guess I could rate the service a little higher with Jacob being the waiter that decided to take our table we came in waited 20 minutes to be seated understood it was busy, once we seated no lie we had to wait like 15 minutes before I was like well where is our waitress after 20 minutes had passed and no one had even greeted our table I went to the hostess stand the hostess who seemed to be a deer in headlights had no idea who the table belonged to apparently so I told her to get the manager for me immediately I was so livid my husband and I we're on a long overdue date and it was just going all wrong the manager came out she was very apologetic but I wasn't trying to hear her my apologies to her now but she did speak with my husband offered him a couple of beers and a free appetizer and told us that the waitress did not know that was her table. This is where I have a problem of course the manager had to say that to clean up the situation but we're in a busy longhorn on a Friday or a Saturday I forget which day it was so all the tables were already been designated to a waitress how come this waitress did not know that we were her table and if we were not her table who's table were we because all the tables were full so where was the waiter that was supposed to come to our table it was actually a bunch of crap I love the outlaw rib eye but apparently they tried to expedite our food because we have been waiting so long and my stake came to the table burnt I didn't even want to complain about it because too much had happened already so I told my husband let's pay the check and go but they replaced our so-called waitress that forgot that was her table with Jacob if you ever go into this longhorn ask for Jacob he was a great waiter but I have to say I was disappointed in the cook the steak was terrible and the service was worse. You know I didn't want to use the race card but this particular waitress was a white girl and I'm black and I saw her look at our table more than once before I went to complain there was a group of white people that was seated right after us and she went directly to their table I used to be a waitress I hear some of the waitresses talking in the back I have a feeling she just didn't want to take our table but don't quote me on that it's just a thought based on the...
Read moreLonghorn was once our favorite place for Ribs, but no more. The last time we had ribs, they weren't very good. The meat normally just falls off the bone and is very tender and delicious. But we thought it was perhaps just a fluke. But the experience was bad enough that we stayed away from Longhorn for about a month. Today we went in for Ribs again and they were totally awful. The meat was tough, we had to scrape most of it off the bone, had to chew dozens of times to get much of the meat down. It was a terrible experience and we're so turned off now (the second bad experience in a row) we've now scratched Longhorn off of our favorite places to eat. As for service, out waitress was excellent, but when we first came in (around 6:00 p.m.) the place was eerily empty, which seemed strange because we're used to seeing the place packed on Friday evenings. Still, despite most of the tables and booths being empty, we were told we would have wait about 15 minutes to be seated. I guess they don't have enough employees to operate the place anymore; while we eat, someone in my party said it's a management problem, which seems to make sense, but it's hard to be sure. Either way, Longhorn has lost us as a customer for at least quite a while before we try them again. We have left a lot of money there over the years, and always enjoyed it, so it's really a shame. Note that our waitress was excellent; friendly, fast, attentive to us. We didn't want to complain we dislike complaining; if the food is bad in any given place, we just...
Read moreRestaurants can get busy, I get that. But this place milked it like mad. When we arrived we waited 30mins for a table of 4 adults and a baby. When we got seated our waitress told us the kitchen was out 30mins from our order. OK, strike one. As we sat there we realized the environment was quite cold. The room temperature must have been set a temperature below 68 at least. I hate cold restaurants! Ok, strike two. Finally our food arrived after what seemed like an hour. I was really looking fwd to a great fillet cooked perfect. Unfortunately, the food these guys tried to serve was just a stone cold slab of meat! Oh it was "cooked" but had obviously sat out on the serving tray for sometime before coming to us. Now I hate to be a cliche and use that description but it really was the worst steak I have ever been given out. We complained and our waitress said "yeah I just heard that from another table," - Say what?! We weren't the only ones with that problem?! Clearly the place has some management issues. They offered to reheat my steak or to make a new. Who wants to pay for reheated steak? I had them remake it and this time it was hot like it should been the first time. As for the promised "compensation" for giving all us a cold steak? Just a measly 25% off the bill. Had we not all been so completely cold and needing to leave I would have argued that point but it was then that I simply decided this place has earned my review which you are reading now. Strike three. ...
