I will never go back! When this place first opened I was so excited. The food was good. However, lately the food is so bad and the customer service even worst. Today I called and placed an order for goat meat with rice and beans and an order of Lalo rice sauce pois. I asked for akra with the dish and the gentleman told me that they no longer give akra with the main dishes. I said ok then I will have an order of akra and an order of marinade. I arrived to pick up my food and after paying I checked the food only to find that the two sides orders were wrong, Instead of akra and marinade, I got two sides of sweet banane and no sauce pois for the lalo order. I told the gentleman this and he looked over my order and said: you must have ordered the sweet banane because that's what I wrote down. I said no. I did not order sweet banane, I do not like sweet banane, I do not eat sweet banane. He argued with me and finally told me that he would make the akra and marinade. After waiting another half hour, he had the akra and proceeded to argue with me that I did not pay for the akra and marinade. This went on way too long and I am not about to argue with a restaurant for an order that cost $4.66. So I said I will pay for it, even though I had already paid for it when I picked up the order. It wasn't even worth it! The marinade is just a greasy glob of flour and inside is not cooked. They don't even give you pikliz with your side orders anymore. So sad. I was so excited but it's just not worth the aggravation. Do yourself a favor and go to another haitian restaurant. there are others in the metro Atlanta area. I wish I could...
Read moreMy initial review (see below): For a Jamaican food spot I wasn't impressed at all. Save your money and find another one. Food was mediocre, nothing to brag about and definitely nothing screams AUTHENTIC here. Really disappointed.
I ordered the oxtail and got a few small bones. Not worth the money they charge. My first visit was my last.
Update- My Response to Jo Jo Fritay:
The management team responded and advised me that they were an authentic Haitian restaurant and not JamaicanTo the team at Jo Jo Fritay, I apologize for misrepresenting you as a Jamaican 🇯🇲 establishment. Unfortunately for Jo Jo Fritay, my review is still the same. The good thing here for viewers to understand, is that my opinion is just that. It's only my opinion based on the experience I had there.
As a born and raised Miami native, I've had the pleasure to experience a wide variety of cuisines (including Haitian). Miami being a melting pot for Cuban, Jamaican, Haitian, Middle East, Honduran and many others, gave me the opportunity to experience such. I'm not knocking your business, just giving my honest opinion. Your establishment is obviously successful or you wouldn't be in business. It just wasn't to my liking. To all of your potential customers, it may be one of the best Haitian spots they been to. Although I won't be returning, I will encourage them to go for themselves and leave their own opinion. To Jo Jo Fritay, I wish you much success in the...
Read morel had the pleasure of dining at Jojo Fritay, a delightful Haitian restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant is clean and inviting, with a cozy decor that reflects the rich culture of Haiti. It was evident that the staff takes pride in maintaining a tidy establishment, which added to the overall pleasant experience.
Now, let’s talk about the food! The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional Haitian dishes, and everything I tried was bursting with flavor. I started with the taso , marinated pork that was perfectly seasoned and fried to a crispy golden brown – simply delicious! The Pikliz, a spicy pickled vegetable relish, added just the right kick to the dish. Overall, my first visit I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to explore the vibrant flavors of Haitian cuisine. I can't wait to return and try more dishes...
