This place is awesome. My husband and I go here regularly, and 9 times out of 10, if one of us starts a sentence with, "You know what I'm really in the mood for?" or "You know what I'm craving/what would be really good? Taj." The people are all incredibly kind and attentive as servers. The man who we presume is the owner is always so generous and will sometimes bring little desserts to taste and enjoy at the end of the meal, unexpectedly. Today, my husband and I ordered takeout after a long day out (I stayed in the car to keep our groceries cool while he went inside to get the food), and as we were pulling out to leave, we saw the owner walking across the parking lot toward our car (in 90 degree heat) with a little mango dessert wrapped up for my husband. As soon as he saw me in the car, he said, "I didn't know you were in the car. I would have brought you one. Would you like one too? Here, let me get one for you." He asked me to pull up to the restaurant and brought another out a few seconds later. The people are incredible, and the food is consistently DELICIOUS (and large portion sizes -- my one order will last 2-3 meals, while my husband likes to eat his all at once :) If you've never had Indian food or aren't sure what to get or try, I highly recommend trying chicken tikka masala (I get mild; my husband gets hot) with some regular naan bread. It's insanely flavorful and hits the spot every time. In September, we are moving 20 minutes further away from Taj than where we live now -- but we both agreed today, Taj will always be our go-to Indian place. You guys are awesome. Thank you for your generosity and...
Read moreSuper cool place. Haven't dined in here but ordered takeout twice. One time at the beginning if the New Year as well as a couple of days ago.
Takeout process was simple and ordered a good amount of food. Food portions are relatively good in general especially when comparing to other places. I would say this restaurant is more about quality control over quantity which is admirable.
Ordered Chicken Vindaloo and Madras as well as Chana Masala and Garlic Naan. Vibdaloo ordered Hot spice level. Didn't disappoint. In fact just a bit too difficult to put down all at once. Might order that Medium plus next time. Really like the potatoes mixed in. Very lovely flavor.
Chicken Madras was a lot more my style. Very aromatic and moist. Chana Masala was splendid as well. I find most places tend to have watery Chana Masala but this was a lot thicker which is perfect because Chick peas really can absorb the flavor additions.
Garlic Naan was good. 1 large Naan cut in half with garlic and coriander leaves sprinkled on. Good accompaniment to the rice. Lots of dipping action with the sauce from the mains.
Will have to try the fish, lamb and goat next time. Chicken dishes seem super safe and very much are going to be a rotation favorite of mine when I order in the future.
Give it 5 stars for service as there was no hold up plus looking at other reviews it seems service is very much up to standard. Interior is very lovely but the booths look out of place. Could use a modernized update with seating but the white, red and gold accents should be kept. Really like the atmosphere.
Will come again, maybe for the buffet next...
Read moreMY FIRST INDIAN FOOD EVER!! It was great. Im kinda picky so this reviewer journey is gonna have to be one of personal growth as well.
Some of the dishes have a strange unfamiliar flavor but there wasnt anything super weird - if all you ever eat is McDonalds dont be afraid there were no indian version of mountain oysters. I cant give you a play by play of taste like Guy Fieri or anything and I dont know a damn thing about Indian Food but I know a clean place and I know good service and I can recognize fresh well prepared food from any culture. I went into this place looking homeless and the staff treated me like I was dressed for church....most people there were.
The staff was friendly impeccably dressed, so personable with their known customers. They were efficient and graceful but still super cool while clearing tables, cleaning them with disenfectant spray and wiping them down before putting white table cloths and beautiful place settings out (the place was packed for Sunday buffet) and preparing for a party that was arriving as I left and another that was already setting up in the banquet space when I arrived.
The place itself is beautiful. The ambience is unmatched in this area. A beautiful, delicious cultural experience right here in Kennesaw! Go check it out!
I came back into this review because I must add one thing...they let you take whatever is left on your plate when you finish. They dont discourage it they make sure you dont want it and if you do they box and bag it for you. I have never seen any buffet do that...I thought it was...
