I honestly think this restaurant filters or buries bad reviews because my experience doesn’t line up with all the glowing ones.
I first tried Tindrum during their soft opening through UberEats. Ordered wings, fried rice, and stir fry chicken, everything ended up in the trash. The wings were extremely salty, the rice and chicken were swimming in grease, and the sesame oil was so overpowering it ruined the flavor. I decided not to post a review back then since they had just opened and maybe needed time to adjust.
Fast forward a few months, I gave them another chance since they seemed busy and well-rated. I ordered a cup of miso soup, coconut soup, beef bulgogi bento, tofu Penang curry, potstickers, and fried rice. Sadly, it was another disappointment.
The “miso” soup was spicy (why?) and didn’t taste like miso at all. Coconut soup was just okay. Fried rice still drenched in sesame oil. The Penang curry was oddly sweet, not the rich, balanced flavor it should be. Potstickers tasted like something straight out of a freezer bag.
The bulgogi bento was probably the worst part, I picked brown rice and Asian slaw for my sides, but it was basically just onions and scallions everywhere. I got maybe 7 small strips of beef, and the rest was green onions, regular onions, and a few sad carrot shreds. The “Asian slaw” was literally another pile of scallions.
I really wanted to like this place, but nothing about the food stands out except how overly greasy and unbalanced everything is. I just don’t get the hype, maybe people like the variety, but honestly, none of it hits the mark for quality or flavor.
Sorry, this is the only photo I’ve got, but honestly, it pretty much sums up...

We recently tried Tin Drum for the first time, and it instantly became our new favorite spot—especially for ramen. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner who personally welcomed us in and made us feel right at home. Throughout our visit, they checked on every table with a smile, thanked everyone for coming, and made sure we were truly enjoying our experience. That kind of personal touch goes a long way.
Now let’s talk ramen. My wife is originally from California and has been living here for almost two years—and she said this is hands-down the best ramen she’s had since moving. That says a lot. The flavors were rich, the noodles perfectly cooked, and every bite just hit the spot.
The vibe is chill, the staff is kind, and the food speaks for itself. What started as a first visit quickly turned into “when are we coming back?” This place has something special. If you love good ramen, great boba, and even better people—you need to try Tin Drum. We’ll definitely...
Read moreWonderful dining experience with a wide range of hot and flavorful food for six people. We came in for lunch and ordered many different plates to share between us and everyone absolutely loved what came out. We can recommend the Bangkok sweet chili curry with pork belly, ginger stir fry, Japanese bourbon chicken, panang curry with chicken, coconut soup, chicken lettuce wraps, and firecracker cauliflower. There is so much more in their menu that we’re excited to try. On top of the atmosphere and incredible food, the hospitality and service were also excellent. The owner is very friendly and engages in genuine conversation, and the staff are courteous and go out of their way to be kind and do things to make the experience. While we were eating, we heard someone who works in the same shopping center order food to go and they were told they would bring the food over when it was ready. That’s just the level of wonderfulness going on at this location. Tin Drum corporate made the right decision with...
