You can't make a first impression twice and I was thoroughly impressed upon my first visit. Visited on Sunday afternoon so the place had some customers, but was not packed. It sits in a decent size shopping center so parking is plentiful. As soon as I walked in, I just felt comfortable. It looks and feels like I just stepped into a friend or family member's home, only much, much cleaner. This is further verified by the outstanding 100% on their health score. The gentleman at the front, and I seriously feel bad for forgetting his name, was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I always get tacos and a side of queso the first time eating at any Mexican restaurant. Tacos and queso, in our opinion, are just the best foods to get as a litmus test for such an establishment. If you can't make a good taco, we most likely wont come back. Well, the tacos were absolutely phenomenal! I grew up off of Buford Highway and have been eating tacos my entire life. The tacos here are definitely top 5 I have ever had in Georgia. AND THEY HAVE HANDMADE TORTILLAS!!!! Totally worth the nominal upcharge for that extra taste of a home cooked meal. My wife ordered 3 steak tacos and I ordered one steak, one al pastor and one chicken taco and a side of queso. The meat was hot, fresh, perfectly seasoned and delicious (especially the al pastor). The only thing I would l have liked was just a little bit more meat on the tacos. They weren't skimpy by any means, I just wanted a little bit more for my tacos. That is my only bit of constructive criticism by the way, but by no means a reason to deduct a star from the review. The nacho chips were hot, fresh, perfectly salted and not stale like a lot of the places I have been to. The queso was on point. The horchata was flavorful and mango juice was refreshing and both were not overly sweet (which I like). The red sauce was spicy for sure, but overwhelmingly so. The green sauce didn't have as much kick, but oh so much flavor. Both sauces tasted handmade, and with fresh ingredients, not prepackaged or anything like that. Overall, a wonderful, full 5 star experience. The prices were fair for what we got and the atmosphere and customer service are wonderful. Will I go back? That is a Texas sized 10-4 good buddy! And next time I want to try their quesobirria tacos, and the tortas, and the menudo, and the pozole and whatever else they have on...
Read moreI saw that this restaurant opened in my neighborhood and couldn't wait to try it. They had me at authentic Mexican food.
We went on a Saturday when we happened to be in the area and we're the only ones inside. The young lady at the counter helped us decide on Quesabirria and took her time explaining each food item we questioned. She apologized for not being able to express herself well because English is not her first language. I assured her she was doing just fine and she was. She was so sweet and kind and explained each and every item we asked about.
The food is cooked to order so you get hot, fresh food. We also got horchata that was made fresh and tasted amazing. The Quesabirria came with a bowl of soup and she also dropped off some sauces to our table. The food tasted amazing. You could taste the fresh ingredients and the love that went into it. I can't wait to go back. I've been telling anyone who will listen about my amazing experience here and how good the food tastes.
The service!!!!! The service is exceptional!!!!! If you appreciate good service with your meal, then this is the place for you.
I loved the decor and decorations in the seating area as well. Everything was really pretty, neat, and clean. Even the music playing was good; not too...
Read moreThe steak nachos look like ground beef and tasted chewy, I thought I had the wrong order after looking at it inside the store. I said well maybe it’s the beans mixed in looking like this. I immediately called them and stated the issue I had with my nachos. She stated to me to send a picture to their cell phone. After doing that they told me to drive back as if I was getting it re-made. Once I arrived after burning gas again, they showed me a No Refund sign… I said why did you make me drive back over here for nothing. Now I burnt gas, wasted the food and gave you a tip for nothing. No remorse or care in the world!!!!! Hate to say it but it’s True a Hispanic would have not had the same treatment. They come to our neighborhoods to make money and the first thing is a no refund sign!!! I will not be returning nor anyone I know. Back to El Indio I go, I will take the drive where it’s worth it. SO KEEP in mind if the cheese sour, or chips stale, steak chewy and etc etc etc THEY DON’T CARE you stuck with it...
