One thing I enjoy about Myth and Legend is its theming and clear inspiration from pop-culture, comics, video games, fantasy worlds, and all sorts of nerdy topics. But the one thing all of those inspirations have in common is that it was created with love, passion, and most importantly REAL PEOPLE.
It feels so disappointing to see a local business willing take a cheap and soulless alternative instead of giving back to the community by creating a platform for small artists. There are plenty of talented artists in Forsyth who would love to have their work line the walls of myth & legend, so I would hope they would want to move past the ai art theyâve been using since the beginning of the store. Instead, theyâve only promoted it more, and if confronted about it, the staff will just straight up lie to you.
When asking two workers, one had gave an honest answer over her lack awareness and made a note that many customers have come in âasking the same thingâ, while the other immediately jumped into our conversation and âassured meâ that it is in fact ânot ai generated artâ. Of course, I followed up the response with a pretty easy question. âWhat is the name of the artists then?â The worker could not answer this question.
The answer is clear though when you just take a second to look at the art. Female fighter pilots with 6 fingers, background soldiers with distorted-incomplete faces, trees behind Sasquatchâs coffee appearing/disappearing and connecting to nothing, unfinished backgrounds/backgrounds that make no sense, and man, many moreâŚ
While this review has nothing against the actual coffee served at the place, Iâm left with a sour taste in my mouth when a store built on âmyths and legendsâ created by Humans surrounds itself with art made...
Read moreTried this place over the weekend. In my opinion, it was very pricey compared to other similar coffee shops for a regular iced latte⌠but, given the area itâs located in, I guess I it is par for the course. The coffee itself was good, but definitely not the best Iâve ever had especially given the price. Additionally, $1 extra for skim milk is pretty ridiculous. Skim milk is not an âmilk alternative ,â it is still a form of cowâs milk just like 2% and whole milk and is priced the same at any grocery store, unlike almond and oat milk, which are truly more expensive. This is a little excessive to me. But to each their own.
Finally, if youâre coming in for studying, work, or anything on the computer, I might recommend elsewhere. Their WiFi was painfully slow for me and barely loaded anything at all during my visit. I ended up just closing my laptop and heading home. Chairs and tables were very limited inside as well, but looking at reviews, they are waiting on another shipment, so Iâm sure this will change soon.
Overall, cute place and good coffee, but it could work on...
Read moreA lot of shops tick a few of the boxes. Good coffee, but snobby service. Great atmosphere, but dirty bathrooms. This place, on the other hand, is well-conceived, has a great atmosphere, and serves a nice cup of brew. There are bright areas with tons of glass for reading, or you can go into a magazine-worthy, dark, brooding room. To brood... or stare at my lovely bride. The young lady helping us didn't seem to know what a decaf was (She was brand new, and probably had never heard of such a boring drink before, but her trainer stepped right in and served up a delicious decaf Americano. With heavy cream. And honey. Yep, pretty smart.) Great place, meticulously clean, and even the spotless bathroom obviously had an interior designer create it. Overall, 5 star experience......
