My first visit was just a few days ago and I was really hungry. I didn't know what I wanted to eat but inquired about the meatballs, whether they were a blend of pork and beef as most Italian restaurants make them. Dylan, the cashier/server, wasn't sure and inquired for me.
Dylan was hands down the BEST part of my experience! Not only was he very kind, polite, professional, thoughtful, and helpful to me during my (dine-in) visit, he was that way with every customer that came into the establishment. What an impressionable young man! I even let him know that I appreciated him for being so thoughtful. He really takes pride in his job. My 2nd favorite part of my experience was the garlic bread served with my spaghetti, followed by the portion of food. I ordered the beef lasagna to go and needed a to-go container for the portion of spaghetti I didn't finish. The only reason I gave a 4-star rating was because I had to wipe off remnants of food (parmesan cheese, etc.) from the table and booth seating I chose to dine at. There were no other customers dining in and it was early afternoon on a weekday so there didn't appear to have been a lunch hour "slam". Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the bagging of items left me with a whole mess to clean up (off my countertop) once I got home. The bottom of the plastic bag was filled with all the water/juice from a squished and overturned tin containing my lasagna.
Nonetheless, I did promise Dylan I'd return to at least try the pizza. He was a rockstar with excellent customer service...
Read moreI'm from Chicago, where pizza is accorded quasi-religious status - whether you prefer classic thin crust, deep dish, Chicago-style, or NY style, Chicago has EVERY kind of pizza you could ever desire. When I moved to Atlanta I was a bit apprehensive about my options. I'm still searching for a few of the afore-mentioned styles, but I have found a GREAT pizza joint that bakes up some really fantastic NY-style thin pizza...introducing Rosa's Pizza in Marietta, GA.
Rosa's is a comfy little pizza joint in an unassuming shopping strip (isn't everything in Marietta in a shopping strip?), but boy does it bake-up amazing pizza!
Their NY-style thin is the best I've had outside of several places in NY, Little Stevie's Pizzeria on Boylston Street in Boston, and Cafe Luigi Pizza on N. Clark Street in Chicago.
For your first visit I recommend the large cheese pizza - load-it up with red pepper flakes, italian spices, and grated cheese, then fold the slice in half and enjoy! A true NY pizza experience, right in the heart of Dixie!
Their garlic bread is amazing, too. They have salads and other Italian dishes, but start with the pizza - it really is fantastic! The staff is friendly, the food is cooked fast and served hot and fresh and the place is very family-friendly. There are TV's tuned into sports and news, but they are not distracting. A few solid beer selections round-out the experience.
You will definitely enjoy...
Read moreA friend of mine raved about this place and especially the daily lunch special for $6.75 (two 1-topper pizza slices and a large drink). And they are very large slices. I was next door at Home Depot waiting on some custom material cuts to pick up, and decided to stop in. The gal serving was friendly and attentive and the service was fast. That's where the good stops and only why this review is three stars instead of two.
When my two slices arrived, they were very greasy and soggy on the bottom. It appeared they were reheated, something I would not expect during the regular lunch hour with a lot of customers. When I picked a slice up, it drooped like a wet noodle and was very unappealing. The first thing I always judge in a pie is the crust edge to really taste it alone. It was average at best with no real stand out flavor or texture. Further, I really couldn't taste the red sauce which seemed to be lacking in quantity. The toppings however were of acceptable quality and quantity.
I expected better pie, especially with a friend's suggestion and the ratings here. Maybe I just caught a bad time. I will give it one more try however when back in the area. If my experience is better, I'll update...
