I’ve been here before with a friend and came again today with my family. Food was great, but the hostess ruined the entire experience from the first interaction to the last. Initially, we were told to go outside to wait, where there is no available seating, (and my mother uses a cane) when there were clearly people who would be leaving soon. We received glares from the woman who was serving in the hostess role and she was not even the one to address us once a table was ready. Then when we left she did not speak as my dad paid for the meal. Throughout the entire transaction process she only looked down and then rudely asked if he would like a copy of the receipt. Coming from someone who has worked in food service and hospitality roles, this is not acceptable and respect should be given to all guests no matter what personal problems you may be having. Work is work and service is part of the job. Servers were great and friendly and it would be prudent if some lessons in manners could be given to someone who is representing the restaurant at...

We've been a couple times lately and the food and service were great! However! We will NOT be going again. Today we went for breakfast. We sat down and ordered. Once our food was placed on the table a roach crawled across the table. We immediately jumped up and left. On the way out the server asked was everything OK, to which we answered, "No ma'am, a roach just crawled across the table. We do not want to eat here" and she replied "oh ok, have a blessed day". At the register with the ticket in my hand I explained to the cashier that we had not eaten and why but would pay if needed. She replied "oh no I'll just give it to the owner" like this is normal practice here. Not once did anyone even say I'm sorry!!

Edited to add: After seeing the other numerous reviews of customers who were less than satisfied, I've come to the conclusion that the curt, passive aggressive replies from the owner seem as if they are a defensive response and not truly trying to make the customer experience better. It's always the customers...

Not a review of the food, but of the owners.

Worst people I've ever been employed by. Pete is mildly stubborn but his wife, Dee, is belligerent and he does nothing about it. I covered a shift, to help them out, got overtime, and they tried to not pay me my time and a half and then got highly beligerent when I wasn't happy about it. They then proceeded to be nitpicky about anything they could over the next several shifts. They are the ONLY employers who have tried to steal from me then treated me like I was in the wrong.

Staff? 10/10, miss them. Bad owners/managers are what hurt businesses the most. Food is decent and cheap but if you are seeking employment, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Trust me.

Edit- their reply is misleading, I washed dishes there and apparently they aren't smart enough to recognize my first name and my description of events to realize my google account doesnt use my actual last name. So glad I got...

My first time eating here despite living in Evans area since 1995. Our server Bobbie was as delightful as the dishes we ate. I had eggs and I am very very picky about my eggs I like running yellow yolks but I am grossed out by running whites. I asked Bobbie to make sure I had no running whites even if the cook had to make the yolk hard I can't stand running whites. The eggs reminded me of a child in school the way my mother cooked them for me soft yellow yoke and no running whites at all. Hash browns, sausage patties coffee everything was great and the price was no more than if I had gone to fast food place. I am very pleased I came and I will for certain eat at Ruth's again. It really is great food for a unbelievable low price. Please support Ruth's and tell them you read this review and decided to try them.

Ruths Family Restaurant is like going to Bingo night at the VFW, Yes the patrons are a bit seasoned/mature/salty. The place has a great feeling of community. Sure the floor has patterns of wear in it them from all the years of patronage, but so do 5 year underwear, and you still wear them for the comfort and the memories. The place is pure diner gold. The waitresses show true southern hospitality and are not afraid to to tell you about the town gossip. The biscuits were soft, gold, and well baked. The hashbowns were crispy on the outside and perfect in the center. In a city where restaurants struggle to be authentic, Ruths is as real as it gets, like a shotgun wedding with matching tattoo rings. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and brunch

I went here awhile back and I was pretty impressed. It is a small place with plenty of tables inside and a friendly staff. It is apparently quite popular with celebrities such as Bill Murray. I wanted to try the breakfast being my first time there, so I got the most unique dish I saw. Pete's Trash Omelet, although filled with everything you can put into an omelet there, tasted good. Especially with the topping of corned beef hash. The biscuit and hashbrowns I got on the side were nothing to write home about, but they were good too. The food was extremely cheap and you get a lot. If I'm in town and want a diner breakfast, I know where to go.
