We stepped into Silla del Toro and felt like we were transported out of Toco Hills. The decor is like a contemporary hacienda. The ambiance is simultaneously elegant and casual.
Food: The tapas have generous portions (enough for 3-4 people to each take a bite to try). The flavor combinations really complimented each other. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the quality was good. The seafood plates were our favorites-- so succulent.
Drinks: They have a custom Gin + Tonic section on the menu. The cocktails were refreshing. There were plenty of wine and sangria options as well.
Service was super attentive, and the food came our relatively fast.
Tip: We enjoyed taking the bread from the Escalivada (grilled vegetables) and eating it with the Gambas al Ajillo (garlic shrimp).
It seems like they have plans to grow-- more options for their wine bar / wine events in the future, plans to open for brunch hours (only open for dinner hours currently), and plans to build an...
Read moreUnpretentious neighborhood spot with some hits and couple of misses. The restaurant is comfortable and casual with a slightly upscale flair. Food is tapas style. We sat at the bar while waiting for our table, and the drink I was served was nice. The server was pleasant and we tried a little of everything. The meatballs were a hit and are a popular menu item. The mussels not so much. The sauce was watery and lacked flavor, do not recommend. The charcuterie board was fantastic. The lamb - okay. We asked for a couple of things that the server forgot to put in so we did not get to try the croquettas. Our group had the churros and the chocolate cake (flourless for the gluten intolerant). They were great! The server missed my ginger beer and expresso order, but none of the missed items were on the bill. All in all, a nice place that I would...
Read moreRecently visited during their opening! We went with a small group of friends and was perfect for a great night out! The ambiance inside was beautifully appointed and the food and drinks matched on all levels. Our group started with a round of cocktails and then shared some wine. Cocktails were so good with the old fashioned as the group’s favorite. They also gave a great recommendation for wines to share as well. Food was great for the group as we ordered all the tapas and a few large plates. All of the tapas orders were well sized to share with the group and flavors were amazing. Some of my personal favorite tapas were the pulpo, pinchos, and empanadas. We tried the paellas and rib eye to also share and they did not disappoint! Can’t...
