I recently had the misfortune of visiting Steak N Shake and encountered what can only be described as a truly dreadful experience. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that this would not be an enjoyable visit. The customer service was abysmal, filled with unprofessional behavior and a complete lack of regard for customers.
Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted by an employee who was not only smoking a cigarette but also seemed completely disinterested in attending to customers. The combination of inhaling second-hand smoke and being neglected by the staff was incredibly off-putting. It set the tone for what was about to become an increasingly frustrating encounter.
As I waited in line, it was clear that the employees were in a rush. They hurriedly took orders without giving customers a chance to properly communicate their preferences. This lack of attentiveness was incredibly disrespectful and demonstrated a complete disregard for the customers' dining experience.
The pinnacle of this disastrous visit occurred when I received my milkshake. Not only was the drink prepared hastily, but the employee failed to properly secure the cap. As a result, my milkshake spilled all over my car, creating an unnecessary mess and ruining what little remained of my patience.
Seeking resolution, I approached the manager at the window to voice my concerns. To my disbelief, instead of offering a sincere apology, the manager attempted to deflect the blame and even went so far as to suggest that the fault was mine. Their audacity in suggesting that "maybe my glasses were screwed on too tight" was not only condescending but also completely unfounded.
The entire experience left me feeling utterly disappointed and disrespected as a customer. The lack of professionalism, the disregard for customer satisfaction, and the manager's dismissive attitude made this visit to Steak N Shake a nightmarish ordeal.
I strongly advise potential patrons to reconsider their dining options. It is clear that the establishment lacks the necessary standards of customer service and basic professionalism. With so many other dining choices available, it would be wise to avoid Steak N Shake altogether until significant improvements are made.
Overall, my encounter at Steak N Shake was undoubtedly the worst experience I have had in recent memory. It is disheartening to witness such disregard for customers and a complete lack of accountability from...
Read moreI used Uber Eats to order so I’m not sure whose to blame here, the driver or the restaurant but all I have to say is this is one of the most sorry orders I’ve had. We ordered late on 8-25-19 right before midnight. My fiancé moved furniture all day and I am 8 months pregnant working full time so both of us were beat and that’s why we ordered. 95% of the time when we use Uber Eats to order we don’t have any issues. I do Uber and Uber eats myself so I know what it takes. Anyways the food took over an hour from the estimated time and I even messaged the driver asking if everything was ok. She read the message and never replied. We ordered along with someone else (I know this bc we got free delivery so that means someone else had alrdy made an order prior to us). We summed it up to the possibility that the restaurant took too long making both orders (steak and shake is notorious for taking forever to complete orders for some reason). All we ordered was a freaking burger and fries with a milkshake. By the time the food arrived it had been two hours past the time that it had originally given us. I walked up to the car to meet her once she arrived and her and her bf were high so I’m guessing maybe that was the pit stop. I caught her looking through the bags of both orders confused on whose was whose even though the receipts are on the outside of the bags, sketchy. There was no straw for the milkshake and the milkshake arrived warm with the whip cream melted. I had to put it in the freezer for a little. The burger and fries arrived cold (guessing bc it took so long and bc both the windows were down in her car driving down the hwy with nothing covering the food). I can blame that on the driver but I also know the food wasn’t hot leaving the restaurant because the burgers cheese wasn’t even melted either. I reheated the fries and burger in our oven. They weren’t luke warm, they were cold. I didn’t tip the driver and I’m wondering what took so long for cold food to arrive from a restaurant? I feel bad for the people that still had to receive their food after ours bc she still had the order that was suppose to be before ours. I asked for a refund and we won’t be ordering from this restaurant again. Get...
Read moreI came through the drive-through for a mobile order & was told I had to come to pick it up. So I came inside and waited at the front With a few other people who were ordering on the kiosks. They took 8-10 minutes so nobody came up to see anything, Probably assuming I was also ordering on the kiosk, no biggie. I stood there for another five or six minutes after those people left and sat down. Nobody came up, I just sat down after another couple of minutes and was going to wait for someone to bring the other people’s food so I could tell them I was there for the mobile order. This took another 10 minutes or so, and when I got the food, it was cold. I’m assuming it was probably done when I got there and I waited 25 minutes to talk to anybody so It got cold. I wasn’t gonna wait around for another 25 minutes so I just took the cold food.
Was going to give 3 stars For this interaction, but there was also an older gentleman who got food at the kiosk and I guess accidentally clicked cheese fries instead of regular (He was at the kiosk for a long while so probably was having trouble) And he asked if they could remake it for him when they brought it out. The man who brought it out, started talking loudly walking away about “ This is what YOU Ordered. It’s gonna be a while” Then he told the cook on burgers, not even fries, And that cook decided to talk loudly and even glance around the corner to look at the guy while saying loudly “ You put this in yourself at the kiosk like what are you doing?” This is an old man they are loudly disrespecting and belittling & I know he heard because he said to his friend that he didn’t know He clicked the wrong thing accidentally and didn’t mean to. He said this a few times, obviously feeling bad about the whole situation.
The interaction I got is one thing but to belittle an older man for Something so small really put a bad taste in my mouth. I definitely won’t be going back to this location. I’ll drive further for...
