Avoid this place like the plague
Walked in today, a quiet Saturday morning. The bane (food storage area where they prep your food) was a complete mess, and half empty.
I was served roast beef that was completely dried out. This sandwich is completely inedible. I don't even want a remake, I lost the last little bit of faith I had in this place.
Of course, ever since Subway switched to "freshly sliced in house" they made it to where you can no longer view the meats and cheeses stored in the bane. Seems they have something to hide. Not letting the customer view it certainly removes any pressure to keep it up to standards. And this isn't even about whether it's sliced in house. The old packaged style deli meats were great. This shield was just a marketing stunt to justify price inflation edging on the likes of Jersey Mike's.
I worked at THIS Subway (and its original owners sister stores near Roswell Rd Home Depot and Johnson Ferry Kroger) for 2 years in 2011-2012 and have been eating their food less and less as the quality has dropped off. I was not even the slightest bit surprised when the Kroger location closed down permanently shortly after being sold.
There may be good Subway chains left, but this one isn't one of them. Ever since it was sold to another owner in 2018-2019 ish, it has been completely ruined.
Despite paying with a gift card (the only reason I stepped foot inside to begin with), the cashier walked away without handing me a receipt to show the remaining balance. I had to reach across the counter for it myself.
I'm not even going to bother asking for a refund. If I go back, this health hazard of a sandwich is going to be flying squarely...
Read moreSo, I am normally a Subway fanatic. I love Subway, and go atleast once a week. This specific location actually used to be one of my favorite locations until the usual staff was replaced.
Unfortunately now, I shall be avoiding this location at all costs. A few nights ago a specific situation was the last straw, and the only time I threw a fresh sandwich into the trash.
The entire time my order was being assembled, someone (who I assume to be the shift manager or lead?) was ranting and raving about how he hated working at Subway, and would rather work at Taco Bell. That left the only other on-staff employee, who was clearly very ill and coughing and hacking, to assemble my sandwich.
To his credit, the ill person literally tried to hold his breath while assembling most of my sandwich. However he had to stop multiple times, as the currently-ranting lead / manager pushed him out of the way halfway through my sandwich to start assembling his own personal sandwich. (While continuing to rant at the top of his lungs).
After a delightful ten minute long rant, he finally finished making his personal sandwich and just..sorta walked out of the building.
Finally, my sandwich making could resume. It was completed, paid for, and was being wrapped up and then....coughed and hacked all over. At this point I was clearly not going to eat the sandwich, as it was already questionable before the coughing fest, and asking the same ill person to make it again was pointless.
I left the store and immediately tossed it into the nearest trash can. My nin dollars basically bought me a 15 minute rant, and a tainted sandwich... I will not be returning to...

Really disappointed with how the food ingredients are handled here - especially the lettuce, which looked old, soggy, and slimy. I politely asked the employee if it would be replaced, and he responded that he couldn’t throw it away unless it was “officially bad,” per the owner’s instructions. He acknowledged that although the lettuce wasn’t fresh looking, still it couldn’t be discarded.
I then asked if I could have some fresh lettuce from the back, and he agreed. But to my surprise, he proceeded to pour the new lettuce directly over the old, stale lettuce. I mentioned that doing so defeats the purpose and will only spoil the fresh batch faster. He agreed but said again that he was just following what the owner requires.
The spinach looked questionable too, wilted snd curled up, and some cucumbers were looking soggy and slimy. Overall, the produce didn’t look clean or fresh. I don’t blame the employee. He was polite and clearly just following orders. But the practices at this store are concerning.
Cutting corners with fresh ingredients is not just cheap, it risks people’s health. And when someone gets sick, it’s hard to trace it back and hold anyone accountable. This isn’t how food should be handled.
Attaching photos to show what I saw, including the second image where new lettuce was dumped on top of the old. Not a good...
