If you haven't tried the Tipsy Pig BBQ, you don't know what you're missing! This place is a little hole in the wall inside a gas station. As a chef for over 15 years, I can honestly say thank god I ran into this restaurant. The customer service from the moment you walk in is INCREDIBLE. They are so welcoming and attentive to all customers. The food, to say the least, is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, JUICY, SUCCULENT FALL OFF THE BONE BBQ MEATS! We had the rib plate and 2 sides & also the 2 meat plate and 2 sides. OMGGGGGG It was beyond our wildest expectation. Homemade BBQ sauce is overly DELICIOUS! The mac and cheese was on point cheesy & creamy, hot & well seasoned collard greens. The green beans were also well seasoned & hot. The potatoe salad was fresh & cold as it should definitely be.. along with the coleslaw, which, in my opinion, was the best I've ever tried other than KFC. The blackberry cobbler. OMG is another favorite 😍 I can go on & on about this place, but SERIOUSLY ITS A MUST EAT if you're ever in the Five Forks Trickum area just off Oak Dr. drop oj by and try there BBQ you wont regret it! We LOVED it & I'm sure you and your family would LOVE IT AS WELL. BTW... THEY HAVE SO MANY BEST OF GWINNETT AWARDS & NOW I KNOW WHY.

Looking for a fast bite without the typical “burger” style, my daughter and I decided to try this family owned BBQ joint within a local gas station. They have their own smoke hut outside too, and a counter inside. The whole place is bright, clean, friendly and inviting. The people are super friendly, and the menu is full of traditional southern BBQ choices and a few neat twists. The pulled pork is solid, good smoke flavor, low fat content, well cooked. The home made lemonade is an unexpected treat! There’s 5 choices of sauce and all of them are solid efforts and the sweet one called “regular” is my favorite. There’s a vinegary CAROLINA sauce, 2 levels of spicy sauce, and a mustard based GOLD sauce. Pricing is a bit high for such a neighborhood joint, but their excellent service and delicious food is worth it.

THIS IS HOW YOU ORDER AND PAY. First, yes it’s in the Exxon gas station. Go into the store like you were going to pay for gas but go left to the restaurant portion on the store. The menu is taped down to the counter. After you give your order to the person at the counter, they will give you a handwritten ticket. Take that ticket to the station cashier on the other side of the store by the cigarettes and give it to them and pay (card or cash). The cashier will staple a printed receipt to the handwritten one. Take it back to the food counter and hand it back to the person taking orders. There are tables for dining in. Wait until your order is called and take your food. Whew, now that’s done. The pulled pork and potato salad were delicious. The workers were very friendly and worked quickly.

FOOD I've tried BBQ and many traditional sides from almost every BBQ restaurant in the metro Atlanta area for decades. I have a very discerning palate (I know, I know, it's BBQ, not haute cuisine, yet...), so I'm usually disappointed by BBQ from restaurants about which others rave. I allowed myself to be just a tad hopeful about The Tipsy Pig after reading Google Reviews. Predictably, I'm disappointed again. Maybe the recent postings that state quality declined with a change in ownership are more indicative of current quality. I ordered the pulled pork plate with potato salad and cole slaw with blackberry cobbler for dessert. I also paid an extra $0.65 to replace white sandwich bread with Texas toast. Two small cups of sauce are included. Nothing was remarkable. In fact, with the exception of the potato salad, everything was bland, flavorless. The potato salad was too salty. The cook should know that if you're going to add olives to the salad, you should reduce the amount of added salt. The cobbler was palatable (although it was almost syrupy-sweet), thanks to plentiful berries. The crust, however, left a lot to be desired. It was a mushy, starchy, paste-like substance between the clusters of blackberries. Room for improvement? Yes.

DELIVERY (GRUBHUB) At the risk of stating the obvious, definitely consider the distance you live from the restaurant. The ETA for my order was 45 minutes to an hour. In reality, delivery was delayed by 17 minutes. The pulled pork was cold; only the blackberry cobbler was still somewhat warm. The food might travel well for up to 15 minutes.

RECOMMEND? No, not based on my first experience. I will try other menu items another time before I...

I was honestly so excited to try this place because I had been craving barbecue. Unfortunately it was a very big let down. The best thing that I had from here was the Carolina vinegar barbecue sauce. I would give that a 10 out of 10. The pulled pork had no Smoky flavor and actually had no flavor at all. It was also torn up into little pieces which I have never seen before. The bread that comes with it is literally just some sandwich bread definitely nothing special about it. The mac and cheese was overcooked and had no salt and pepper again was missing flavor. The baked beans were decent I would give them a 5 out of 10. Unfortunately I've had better from Sonny's BBQ where they actually put pulled pork into the baked beans these were just regular old baked beans. I tasted the coleslaw while I was there while it had a decent flavor it was cut up into to big of chunks for my liking. The last thing that I tried was the Stew which was horrible. This too had no flavor at all other than the pulled pork that was in this actually had some smoke flavor. I'm not sure why they're not seasoning their food but that's one of the reasons why I won't be returning in the future. Also the corn that was in the stew had absolutely no taste at all while there was a crunch that was all there...
