I typically don’t post complaints, but I felt compelled to share a recent negative experience at the Dairy Queen on Five Forks Trickum in Lilburn, GA, in hopes that it leads to better customer service practices.
My family and I arrived at this location around 9:00 p.m. for dinner. According to Google, the Dairy Queen website, and the posted hours on the front door, this location is open until 10:00 p.m. for both dine-in and drive-thru service. When we entered, there were multiple customers seated and placing orders, and we were able to place our order without issue.
However, around 9:15 p.m., a staff member locked the front doors and began going from table to table informing guests that the dining room closed at 9:30 p.m., and we needed to leave shortly so the team could begin closing procedures. This was surprising, especially given the posted hours. Several tables, including ours, had just received food. A few guests understandably expressed frustration, stating they had just received their meals and expected to be able to enjoy them without being rushed out.
We tried to finish our food quickly and opted to order ice cream to-go. While placing that order, another staff member began rolling up floor mats and sweeping directly around and over my wife’s feet, essentially pushing her aside while telling her the lobby was closed and she was in the way. This was incredibly rude and unprofessional.
When I brought this to the attention of the manager, his only response was, “We close at 9:30.” This directly contradicted the posted 10:00 p.m. closing time and made it clear there was either a serious communication issue or a disregard for customer service. What was most troubling, however, was the lack of any meaningful response from management or acknowledgment of the poor treatment.
Additionally, I was disturbed to see a sticker on the manager’s office door that read: “Live like Ali, die like Hussein.” Whether this was intended to be religious, political, or otherwise, it felt deeply inappropriate in a family restaurant setting and was the final indicator of an unprofessional environment.
As a paying customer who spent nearly $60 that evening, I expected a basic level of respect and courtesy. Instead, my family and I felt rushed, disrespected, and unwelcome. We will not be returning to this location, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously by the franchise owner or...
Read moreThis is an addition to the first post... I don't typically do fast food, my my parents live the Alaskan cod sandwich (and so do I) and my dad loves the cone. But what I MOST appreciate is the KINDNESS extended us by the young workers and the manager Nasid. I tell below of the young worker but the manager today assisted my parent even during these COVID restricted times, he used kindness and common sense. So rare these days, we will always support this location, and all of our network!
This location sells the Alaskan cod fish sandwich that our senior parents love, so this has become our spot. Well, one day we stopped thru the drive-thru and asked the young lady for extra napkins, the folks wanted to sit on their patio... The young lady said, no worries, I'll clean a table for y'all. Which one do you want... The folks were so pleased! Will continue supporting but his because of the...
Read morestopped by the place and picked up a chicken sandwich payed with my credit card noticed that the person was doing something under the counter with my credit card when I gave it to her and then she continued to run the card through the credit card machine on top of the counter. I'm thinking that the person is using some kind of credit card scanner to fraudulently take information. beware of this place noticed a unauthorized charge was attempted with my card info a day later. My bank caught it and declined the purchase which was for 98.95. The credit card reader should be on the top of the counter available to the customer not behind the counter with the employees taking cards and using it. The employees should have no reason to take a customers credit card and do anything under the counter for any reason watch this business clearly a problem...
