I've frequented this Waffle House since I moved to the area and the service has progressively gotten worse.
Last draw - Grill Operator eating food while managing the grill.
My family went there for dinner, my order was made incorrectly. I requested no onions, and it had extra onions and bacon. So the waiter took it back to be fixed. I happened to be watching the grill operator when he took the sandwich apart, he used his gloved hand to take what I assume was the bacon and stick into his mouth. Then he continued to put his hands on the food he was cooking.
When the waiter brought the plate to us, I told him what I had seen, and another lady sitting in a booth, started nodding her head that she had seen it as well. The waiter kept looking at the lady in the other booth and then told us that she was the Unit Manager. She told us that she had already spoken to the grill operator about doing this. So it had been addressed with him. However, she was sitting there watching him do it, without saying anything to him. She told the waiter to comp our food. And asked us if we wanted them to recook it.....all while he was still cooking, putting his hands in the different foods and toppings with the same gloved hands that he had used to put food in his mouth. When we told her that everything was contaminated, she just said, "what do you expect me to do" My husband told her he should be fired, she said that it was not a fire-able offense. As we left the store, she sat back in her booth and continued to watch the grill operator fix the contaminated food with the contaminated gloves.
I worked in Food Service when I was younger, and was always taught that contaminated food got discarded not served to customers. And everything is supposed to be done in order to prevent contamination. While I don't particularity fault the young kid that was managing the grill, since the Unit Leader had such little regard to sanitary habits. It's apparent he wasn't properly trained.
The Unit Leader's lack of respect for customer's health and her approval of unsanitary conditions have convinced me NEVER to return to that location. If that's what they're doing in front of customers, there's no telling what they're doing to the food...
Read moreThe most poorly managed and embarrassingly bad Waffle House! I eat at WH at least twice a week because I travel a lot. Been to this location 3 times in the last 2 weeks and and will never go again. Three strikes and your out. Cameron was waiter. He was visibly stoned which is the BEST thing I can say about him. My 6yo son and I were the only customers when we arrived. Every table in the place was dirty, I asked if he could wipe two seats at the counter and he took a napkin and spread the crumbs around but no wiping. Then he took 6 minutes to come and take a drink order. When he brought it I thought he was joking. Diet Coke had 3 cubes of ice and was filled half full. He then handed my son a glass of milk so full he spilled it handing it to him. When I asked for a kids cup with a lid he told me they don’t have those despite them hanging in plain view on the wall. The cook made him re-call the order 3 times and he got it wrong all three times. Brought food over and it was still wrong but I decided to just deal with it. He told me my son’s waffle would be just a minute and proceeded to ignore it so long it was burnt to a crisp. Remade it. Burnt it being edible again. Finally, the cook made a third one and apologized. Stood at register to leave and despite acknowledging me he never came over to let us pay. When I asked if he wanted to get paid for the meal he said “oh…didn’t see you”. Again; only customers in the place besides 2 tables that came in after us but had ordered by the time we were ready to leave. Maybe drug test your employees or fire this one…. Absolutely terrible! I don’t actually expect much of Waffle House. That’s it’s charm. Simplicity. But this is just...
Read moreMy whole family went to this Waffle House last night and got it to-go. We should have seen the red flags right when we got in because it was by far the loudest music in a Waffle House I've ever heard. The girl that helped us was sweet when she took our order to-go. We tipped her well for a small order. But when we got home with our food, they had messed up literally everything except the hash browns sides. My daughter got the wrong topping on her waffle, I had several random blueberries in my strawberry shortcake waffle. My husband ordered a hash brown bowl with bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage and they forgot the egg. All of this was fine with us, and we ate the food anyways, without complaints, but around 5 o'clock this morning, my husband woke up violently ill from his meal. All he threw up was the meal he ate from there and hadn't had anything for hours prior, or since, so we 100% know it was from the Waffle House. I'm grateful there are so many others to choose from in close proximity to us, because this was...
