Ok so Barrio Queen asked for me to come back and leave a comment on why I felt they deserved 5 stars. I will be brutally honest... WORST dining experience ever! Yes that right, worst. But let me explain....If it could go wrong it went wrong. New waiter who didn't know what he was doing, you could see he was stressed and overwhelmed....so he didnt check on us much and we really just had to ask any other waiter passing buy for help. So we got chips and salas and they were amazing. I ordered a red chile something and it was cold, my beans were dried out, I didn't get any melted cheese, my rice was cold and getting hard. BUT I order a plate of short rib tacos also because this was our first time here. THEY ARE TO DIE FOR. So dam good. When we told the manager about my cold plate she was amazing, offered me something else and took the plate off our bill and was very apologetic. I told her I was good with the tacos and I would just keep that as my meal. Next my boyfriend had this amazing large burrito and it was delicious......till the end. He finds a big piece of plastic bag in the last quarter of his burrito. We just couldn't believe it. The manager knew exactly what it was and felt terrible it was even in there and took it off our bill too. Now why did I choose to give them five stars. Because the food we did eat was soooooo dam good and the manager really did her job and took care of us. The restaurant is beautiful, we loved sitting on the patio. Everyone who wasn't our waiters were more than willing to help us. I normally would never consider coming back but the food we did eat was truly sooo good. It was the day after new year so maybe it was a long night for kitchen staff? The manager was really nice and did her job very very well. So we are willing to try them again. No restaurant runs smoothly ever day and maybe we just got them on there bad day. But we will be trying them again that's how good the food...

First off I think that they have done a great job at this restaurant on all counts. The atmosphere is pleasing, and gives off a party atmosphere which lightens the mood. The restaurant seem to be clean. A server we had, she was very attentive and also very pleasant to deal with. She was positive about the restaurants offerings, I made sure the food was enjoyable. My son had the carnitas that was marinated in orange, plus had spices... We all tried it and it was very enjoyable and was even better with the broth that came with. My brother had I believe the carne asada. The steak had char, perfectly seasoned, juicy... Just a winning combination. I had the mole chicken, which there was grilled chicken and that perfect chocolate with spices sauce poured generously on top. Are guacamole had pomegranate in it, and it sounds odd but it is a winning combination and we all enjoyed that appetizer. They're very good salsa and chips here, and usually most places are hot sauces kind of mostly miss and sometimes a hit... But it was one of the better ones I've tried. So good on them to actually make a tasty hot sauce and not just something that tastes like burn. My soda tasted good, which is also something I value because I hate going to a restaurant spending good money on a soda that has too much soda water or too much syrup. AKA the balance needs to be good and it was. Brought home a cool collector cup. Had a great time with my son and brother. We will be back, and we were joking about showing up tomorrow. But we're kind of serious about that too. You know it's good when you can't figure out which of the dishes was the best because it literally is whatever I'm in the mood for that day is what I would choose because all of them are great. Looking forward to...

I took my wife out today for Mother’s Day, just her and I today. Our last visit here was in October of 2022. We only had apps and ordered the table side guacamole. Unfortunately the avocado wasn’t ripe and was extremely chunky. Today we gave it another chance. Ordered the COCTEL DE ELOTE app. It was ok, the smokiness char flavor was there just missing that extra zing. My wife ordered a MICHELADA CHINGONA which she loved. My wife ordered 3 tacos. She told the waitress absolutely no onions, mentioned all the different colors and even stated no pico just none. I ordered the enchilada trio. Our food arrived and all three of my wife’s tacos had onions mixed in them. It was very disappointing as she specifically stated no onions on anything. I felt bad eating without my wife having food and invited her to share mine. I got the chorizo beans. I could taste the smokiness, however I’m not sure if there should be chorizo chunks but it didn’t have much chorizo flavor. My wife’s tacos arrived fairly quickly and she enjoyed them. I’ve read the restaurants responses concerning reviews which is why I added this was our second chance. No I didn’t talk to management. I do not want to be that person complaining. I go out for an experience and if it’s not good I just won’t return. It’s unfortunate I wanted this to be a go to spot I liked the atmosphere. Going out frequently isn’t economical for us and unfortunately I can’t give Bario Queen another shot. I hope this feedback is...

Well this one hurts, came in for Tequila week excited to try and do it all week. Not going to happen, as always here is why. First off our bartender was amazing she was smiling excited to be at work great insight and our actual drinks where spot on!! Then from there the questions of how do you mess up simple Mexican food. Here is how by not putting any chicken in the enchiladas and then folding them so tight as if that was going to hide them. So you can see in the pictures I cut one right in the middle and no meat, for that matter no cheese or anything. Last one I opened all the way up so you could see what they where trying to pass as meat. It was one fork full. Glad I had the sides of rice and veggies since my meal turned vegan. The wife had the carnitas and it actually had meat but zero flavor and I am not even sure how you cook carnitas with no flavor. The wife did say the guacamole was good and happy she received some extra pomegranate for the dip. As you can tell I don’t always rate bad and I am always fair to who serves as well as the food as separate parts of the reviews not all places are a total fail. However the kicker to this tail of tequila week ends with a swift kick that the wife is lucky she told me as we were walking back to the car… $100 bucks come on now are you serious!!! Not worth $50 with tip!! Won’t be finishing the Tequila week here that’s for sure.

The menu had so much to offer that choosing was quite difficult. We ordered the house made guacamole which was excellent. I ordered the Green Chile Pozole which was unbelievably flavorful and would have been enough for a meal. She ordered the Albondigas soup which was also good, but paled when compared to the pozole. I ordered the cochinita pibil which was recommended as a house specialty. The pork was delicious and not a bit dry as pork often is. Homemade corn tortillas, black beans and Mexican rice rounded out the plate. Portions were such that leftovers were a foregone conclusion and we left with several containers. She had green chile enchiladas which were rounded out with calabacitas and rice. We would have ordered the churro desert which sounds decadent, but we were just too full. No margaritas tonight as it was Sunday evening. Service was quite good although I think menu training could have been more thorough as two servers weren’t able to answer a couple of technical food questions. I won’t hold this against them and nor should you. A wonderful meal and experience and I will definitely return. Higher end Mexican food so higher end prices but not ridiculous. Soups guacamole and two entrees as well as soda and ice tea came to $80 plus tip. Photos are stock internet but definitely perfectly representative of our order and experience. ¡Que sabor!

Overall, good experience, but food was room temperature when served to us. Which was really too bad, given it was flavorful. The waitress had apologized for our food taking so long; we hadn’t really taken notice of the delay. But then when the food did arrive a few minutes later, it was not hot, which would leave you to believe that it sat in the kitchen for a while. 2 of us ordered tacos and those were very good. The other 2 of us ordered two different types of enchiladas and we both commented that there wasn’t much filling. The tortillas were large and when rolled made the enchilada look sizable, but it was mostly the rolled tortilla and that was somewhat tough like it hadn’t been heated enough prior to filling. I took a star off for atmosphere because at 6:45pm (when we arrived) it was cold outside and 2 large ‘garage’ type roll-up doors were wide open and it was freezing inside the restaurant. We requested a table as far away from both doors as possible. Sometime during our dinner, the large door by the bar was closed, but the other one remained open. This time of year, we have beautiful afternoon weather, but once the sun goes down, it gets cold! This is nothing new; Someone needs to manage this more closely. I’ll be back because I’ve been here before and the food was very good. Although, I won’t order the enchiladas.
