I never normally leave negative reviews especially of a place I used to go to once a week but this was one of the worst dinning experiences I ever had. But before I go any further I want to say DOVE & THE OTHER BARTENDERS SAVED OUR EXPERIENCE. IF I ever decide to go back I will only sit at the bar & it is only because of DOVE with the pink hair

........"If you have had a single drink at any other place we can not serve you. This is our written policy". By the manager Tyler. One of the worst experiences and treatment by staff that I have had. We came in with a large group that all of us were a part of the bridal party at a wedding. One of the women in our group wanted everyone to go to Joyride cause she had great tacos the night before. She has a big personality and is louder than the average person. Yet, she had just put her two sons to bed and hadn't had anything to drink. She was looking forward to having some at joyride. The tall blonde girl bartender, that wouldn't provide her name, made an assessment of our entire group that we were belligerently drunk. The manager told us his written policy that they can not serve any individual, that had a single drink anywhere else, any more alcohol. I had him tell me that was his exact policy and the policy of all the restaurants owned by the company. I asked for upper managements information so I could lodge a complaint and we left. Not only did he give me information that was incorrect, Tyler called the restaurant next door to tell them not to let our "belligerently" drunk group in. Postinos was the restaurant. Well, after a very short conversation, the wonderful staff made a table for our group of 15. Postinos is owned by the same company. So they would have the same policy. The policy that doesn't exist. We had dinner and drinks at postinos for 15 people. Which is not a small tab. Having worked in the service industry I know how hard customers who are drunk can be. This was not the case. It's really upsetting that we were treated terribly by the entire staff at joyride. Tyler, the manager was incredibly unprofessional and lied to us. The tall blonde girl bartender chirped at us many times and was incredibly rude and...

It was an okay experience, went there on a Friday night with a couple friends. I think we arrived there at around 6-630pm, they said there was a wait of 10-15 minutes, it ended up being 20-25 minutes but that's okay. I like that they have two outdoor spaces for you to choose from for seating, however the interior space is slightly cramped but still very usable.

The food was pretty good, I ordered a couple of their tacos, and my friends ordered a bunch of tacos and overall pretty good. No complaints on the food. Good atmosphere overall.

The service was not great.

They had two hostesses seating people, we were seated, and then a couple minutes later our server arrived and at that point we were ready to order drinks/food - we also requested straws for our waters. Several minutes go by, I receive my drink I ordered from a different person (not our server), several more minutes go by, no straws in sight, had to flag down someone to get straws.

When the food came out, a completely different person than our server delivered the food and they didn't know who ordered what. The server for our table seemed to be managing ALL of the tables at the same time (inside and outside). It was a bit of a nightmare getting her attention to get assistance with things. I am not really sure why they had two hostesses in the first place, they clearly needed another server to assist.

When our checks came I had a question about why there was an extra $1 charge on the bill for my 2x $4.50 tacos ($10), I had to wait several minutes again to flag the server down to figure out where this mystery dollar charge came from (it was for the smallest pico de gallo side cup for my small tacos). It's fine, just would have been nice to have a separate line for that, minor grievance. Their QR-code payment process was super fast and smooth after that.

It...

I love the atmosphere and vibe of Joyride on Gilbert Road. My husband and I were starving and worked quite late Thursday evening - we were so excited that Joyride was open till 11pm! The service was excellent! I felt like we were getting checked on non-stop! As we were starving, we ordered an appetizer and three tacos each with a side of habanero salsa: carnitas quesadilla, shrimp tacos, crispy fish tacos, a braised beef and a carne aside taco. The carnitas quesadilla was absolutely delicious. It was very greasy, which made us a little uneasy at first, but after your first bite the rest is history. We destroyed the quesadilla and couldn't stop talking about it after. We even said it was our favorite, beyond the tacos! The tacos were pretty good but definitely had some opportunities. The crispy fish had great flavor but the fish in both my taco and my husbands were the size of a golf ball. It was disappointing that the best taco was so tiny. The shrimp tacos were opposite, a good portion of shrimp (also very tasty). The braised beef and carne asada were also both good but not as flavorful as the fish and shrimp. In the end, the quesadilla with a little bit of guac and habanero salsa is still blowing our minds.

We’re local and have been eating at Joyride for about 7 years now. Up until yesterday, I would have given 5 stars. We stopped by for lunch and it was a little busy but not bad (we’ve seen it way worse). Two main issues - lack of staff, and drink prices have sky rocketed. The whole time we were there, the hostess seemed to be running all over the place and there were a bunch of new customers standing around waiting to be seated basically all the time. We get seated and notice there are maybe 2 girls serving all of the tables in the whole place. It takes us a while get our drink order in and then our food orders, but the drinks and food do come out pretty fast. We get through our meal and get the bill and see that the margaritas which used to be like $8 have jumped up to $14. And these aren’t big glasses they’re served in, the glasses are small and packed with ice (photo attached). Two margaritas each was $56 for the two of us. They’re tastey but that price is what I’d expect at the Waste Management Open or the Super Bowl, not at a little restaurant in Gilbert. Hopefully some changes happen in the next few weeks.

I wish I could have given this restaurant a higher rating, as I had higher hopes. The atmosphere was fresh and funky. It's a place I would like to hang out in. The ingredients were clearly fresh, and the flavor combinations were good. However, I don't believe the tacos are worth $3.75. I was fortunate to go during happy hour, and I didn't mind paying the discounted price. It's unlikely that I would return at a time I would have to pay full price. The Prickly Pear Margarita was ok. It had a strong taste of tequila, and it wasn't too sweet, which I enjoyed. The tacos are built on corn tortillas, while I personally prefer flour. The tacos are served standing, and by the time I got to my second taco, the corn tortilla had ripped out at the bottom, making it difficult to eat. The service was slow, even though few other tables were seated in the restaurant. Salsa and chips are served upon being seated, and the salsa was great. The guacamole was fresh, but I feel it could have used a little heat.
