I recently moved down the road from Ahwatukee, I was sad to breakup with that Dutch bros but was excited one was still down the street that’s convenient for me when I want to treat myself to coffee outside the house. I visited this Dutch and was very disappointed with the interaction that took place. For context, I get the same drink with modifications nearly every visit, regardless which Dutch I go to, so I’m well accustomed to how it should taste and even the color the drink should be. Upon receiving my order from the window, I could tell immediately my drink was missing the extras shots that I pay for. I’m not a POS, so just to be certain, I taste my drink. It’s lacking that coffee taste. I tell the barista and they said that they watched whoever made the drink so they know it has the extra shots in it. I let them know that as odd as it may sound, it doesn’t taste like it has four shots in it nor does it look like it. I told them that the drink is darker than the shade it currently is. The barista became defensive and stated that usually the drink is a lot lighter than it currently is… to which I reiterated this isn’t four shots of espresso and maintained that it’s suppose to be darker. The barista finally said that they could remake the drink, I politely declined but requested to get the two additional shots that I paid for. One of the other baristas gave me the extra shot in a hot cup, but that’s the problem, they only did the one extra shot instead of the two. Instead of continuing to argue I decided to leave it alone. It wasn’t worth continuing with this. Needless to say, I will either be going to the black rock down the road when it opens or going to...
Read moreIt has become progressively less worth it to come here over the years. I live RIGHT next to the place, I should be able to get a coffee in less than 10 minutes, that's kinda the whole point of a coffee joint that is primarily a drive through, it should be drama free and fast. Every single time I visit there is traffic out in the middle of the road. You can't enter in through the corresponding neighborhood even though thats the direction I'm coming from, so I have to go out of my way to get onto Gilbert Road to make a right turn into Dutch Bros because if you try to make a left turn in, the people who are making the right turn get to cut in front of you because they are the ones blocking traffic. I once went and had FIVE cars who were there after me get into the line before me. So its either go a mile out of your way to make the right turn even though I live RIGHT THERE or get a bunch of people who get there after me in front of me because I'm taking a left. In addition, everytime I decide to park and get out of the car to avoid the traffic drama, the place is packed wall to wall. No social distancing or masks for some people. The indoor people get served much slower than the cars, it definitely faster by car. It's definitely frustrating because there is nothing wrong with the place itself, but I think its fair to give a negative review because I have literally given up on going there EVER again. There is no time its not packed. They need to increase employees, or expand, open another location, SOMETHING because it is absolutely not worth waiting 30 minutes for a 7...
Read moreI love Dutch all in all, however. THIS Dutch bros is the one that makes you think otherwise. As normal you pull in no matter what their attitudes are always great, outgoing, and just caring. Well my experience yesterday, changed all of that. It was hot out, I had 2 babies with me, I can't leave them in the car to get water and circle k so I thought why not pull into Dutch. Told them I wanted a water. The girl who took my order was not very pleased with what I wanted. Literally walked away after it was ordered. They brought it out while I was waiting in line. It was a small water. Maybe it was my fault not explaining how much water I wanted? Or hers for shutting me out and walking about once she heard just a water? Anyways, I pull up to the window asked the other young girl can I get a large instead, she calls the manager (taller , older, wears glasses) and acts like she didn't understand I clearly said "can I get this in large pls" Made me thinking I was speaking another language. He seemed annoyed that he had to make a large water, but whatever I got my water , said thank you 🙏🏽 and they both just turned their backs. Maybe a bad day for them? Not sure. However this experience definitely made me pass up Dutch bros for a coffee today. I was second guessing it not knowing if I was going to run into an angry employee, or a nice one. On a good note! I've never tried Dunkin' Donuts coffee, but that was my next choice and they were everything you expected! 10/10 recommend...
