🔥OG NY Style Pizzeria in Gilbert to Try🔥 Calling all pizza lovers! Have you been here yet? I can’t believe it took me this long to try them 😅. But better late than never, right? Lol. WHAT TO ORDER: 🔥Rice Balls 🔥Antipasto Salad 🔥Thin Crust pizza - meat lovers Note: Chicken Marsala, although a unique topping, wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. My pizza was over sauced on the chicken Marsala side making it soggy. It could be a one off. The flavor was good tho. 📍 @salgilbertpizza 🗺️ 1150 S Gilbert Rd, Ste 106, Gilbert, AZ 85296 #panthereats #gilbert #gilbertaz #gilbertarizona #discovergilbert #arizona #myphx #phxfoodculture #pizzería #nystylepizza #eastvalleyaz #azlocal #azfood #azfoodblogger #arizonafoodie #hungryaz #explorearizona #arizonagram #arizonalove

I really want to like Sal's... The food is good. The ingredients are fresh. The staff is friendly. But, both times my wife & I visited Sal's the back of house service has been totally lacking. Tonight, we arrived at 8:15. We were the last table they sat. At 8:50 I had to ask the server for the Antipasto Salad I ordered. My wife's Penne Alla Vodka had arrived and she had finished eating. The rice ball we ordered as an appetizer arrived after her pasta but long before I asked for my entree. We did not get the extra order of Garlic Knots we ordered...and I could see they had them in the case. I ordered wine, but what I wanted was out. Our server brought a different wine that was enjoyable. She suggested another drink and then came back to tell me they didn't have the ingredients. As I mentioned the food at Sal's Gilbert Pizza is delicious and made with the best ingredients. But the experience has been so horrible. I listened to the wait staff apologize to two other tables near us...and each time they found a reason to take 10% off the bill. Nice, but just improve the service. I will be eating my salad at home... If you have time to waste and can be patient with abysmal service, visit Sam's Gilbert Pizza for amazing Italian fare. Otherwise visit one of the other good Italian places in the Southeast Valley area.

Really liked their pizza. We ordered the family special which is a large cheese pizza (added pep), 16 wings, and a dozen garlic knots. When the wings came out the waiter dropped one and said well now you have 15, sorry about that. Ended up not liking the wings so it wasn't a problem that one of ours ended up on the floor but still a strange encounter. Wings had a weird sauce, was supposed to be hot but had some sweet mixed in. The waiter said they were going to take them off our bill and took the plate away. The manager came over and asked about it, they were both very nice, and said they would give us a discount. When the bill came it was discounted by $8. After discount, the bill was $45 for a pepperoni pizza, small antipasto salad, garlic knots, and 3 sodas. Wings were fried great, really wish they tasted like normal buffalo wings. Salad was pretty good, sliced sandwich meats, some artichoke hearts, a few roasted peppers, a handful of cherry tomatoes, and 1 Italian pepper. I had the ranch and husband had the Italian, tasted his and it had a really good flavor. Better Italian dressing than most. Was not wowed by our first visit but will probably try again and skip the wings. Pizza sauce was flavorful and had good cheese and pepperoni on it.

I thought there was a separate section about parking, so I had to add this to what I already posted. Our little group of six or seven have been to Sal's a few times and we've never had a poor experience. This night, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, mostly due to the dedicated service from Madeline (spelling?). She communicates extremely well amid the roaring crowd, getting our questions handled easily. My Dr. Pepper never reached the point of pulling air in the straw. My friend across the table had draught beer and received replacements timed perfectly. From the great job she did, we could easily believe we were her only table, but common sense tells us otherwise. She's THAT good. Now for the food. I was happy to have veal parmigiana available in a time when liberalism has suppressed marketing that meat. It was delicious, but I had a problem eating it. The portions of meat and angel hair spaghetti were huge on top of already partaking mozzarella sticks and a few garlic knots. I managed to finish off one of the two pieces of veal and a few forkfuls of pasta before I absolutely was stuffed. My to go pan is going to provide at least two more meals in the following week. Flavor wise, I chose wisely and I think if I had made a poor choice, Madeline would have steered me to a better decision. We had some dessert go home with a couple people, but it was far out of the question for me. Maybe next trip will be a dessert only visit for me. I wonder if the huge entree portions suppress...

Let me start by saying—this was hands down the best pizza I’ve had in my entire life.

We were a party of two and arrived on a Thursday night. The wait was about an hour, and we almost didn’t stay because we were starving after a long day. But we decided to stick it out—and thank God we did.

Once we were seated, we were greeted right away and ordered the fried ravioli as an appetizer. It came out quickly and was absolutely incredible. You could tell it was handmade—nothing like the frozen, deep-fried versions you typically get elsewhere. These had flavor, texture, and love.

For our main course, we ordered the Baked Ziti Pizza and the Tricolore. About 30 minutes after ordering, our server came over to apologize and explained that the kitchen printer had been off, so our order was just getting started. He was super transparent and kind—something we really appreciated, especially having worked in the restaurant industry ourselves. He let us know it would be about 10–12 more minutes and offered to bring us complimentary cannoli’s at the end of our meal.

Now, back to that pizza… It was phenomenal. Truly worth every second of the wait. I don’t even have the words to describe how good it was.

Then came the chocolate-dipped cannoli. I’m not usually a big cannoli person, but these were the best I’ve ever had. Next time I come here, I’m ordering them again without a doubt.

This place blew me away—I cannot...

Loud, unorganized, terrible service, had the food a few years ago and it was good I think, but I don't know how it was this time as we left without ordering.

Our story: Tried to go here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with my family of 5. There is no signage, but I think you are expected to order at the counter. All 3 menu TVs had pictures of the food but no pricing. When we walked in the lady at the front very rudely asked if we were "picking up or eating here", to which I replied "eating here". She replied again with "let me know when you are ready to order". Then asked the same question to 3 others that were picking up. She helped 3 others with takeout orders. We stood around for a few minutes trying to figure out what to eat, and finally found a stack of paper menus in a box near the desserts. I opened and tried to find pricing for slices and was gonna ask for help but the one lady at the front disappeared. We had no idea whether we should sit at a table, wait to be sat, or even our options for where to eat said food we had yet to order. It was very loud from the terrible music playing like it was a bar. My kids started asking when we were gonna get help to which I replied, "sorry guys. I don't know". Waited about 2 more minutes before we ended up leaving empty handed and empty stomachs. It seems the only way to get food here is to order ahead and pickup, which we were unaware of, but probably won't...
