Subway — Restaurant in Gilbert

This review is ONLY for the location on the NW corner of Warner & Val Vista at 754 S. Val Vista #102 in Gilbert, Az. I know as a former restaurant owner it can be difficult hiring competent help HOWEVER many other locations have successfully hired competent help because they perform the 2 most important functions while hiring. First they screen for people that have fast food capabilities and second they TRAIN PROPERLY. At this location they employees are simply plucked off the street and tossed behind the counter. They are NOT sandwich artist .....they are kids playing an enlarged version of my Easy Bake Oven or some other fantasy from their childhood. The owner of this location should be properly compensated for their location and have their franchise REVOKED for insulting the SUBWAY name. Management either needs to run their business properly or get out of it. If you are unfortunate enough to enter this location with more than 2 people in line please bring a large novel to read while waiting.....you'll probably get half way through the book before your sub is ready.....Really no excuse for this type of poorly run business....I put 99% of the blame on the owners of this establishment and 1% on the "kids" playing...

"Eat Fresh"? More like "Eat Bleh". While the employees were okayish when we came by, the food is anything but fresh. My mom and I came in to relax with some tasty sandwiches, but my BLT was anything but. The lettuce was all brown, something that should have been tossed, so my BLT had no lettuce. That just makes it a... BT? It's not the same. Worse yet, when my mom brought it up, the employee just glared at her and left it at that. So I had to replace it with spinach since that was more fresh than the latter.

When I started eating my lettuce-less sandwich, the first bite was nothing but mushy tomatoes. It's more difficult to see if a tomato is old, so I had to suffer with that texture throughout the rest of my sandwich because I wasn't going to waste money and not eat! Pressing onward, determined to finish it all, the cucumbers tasted like a mixture of banana peppers (which I don't like) and something else indescribable. The bacon, spinach, and mayonnaise were spared by the curse of distaste, but that didn't save my footlong BLT.

They need to toss the bad ingredients away and try to stay true to the motto instead of pulling out the garbage of...

I hadn't been to a Subway in a long while and I know why. I got a 6 inch roast beef with meal deal. I go to get my drink and half the drink selections were out of order. I wanted Coke that was out, Sprite out too. Unless you drink Diet Coke or Dr Pepper no drink for you. I wish they would have mentioned no drinks before I ordered. I asked the person working and he said nothing he could do. So I paid for drink and had no drink to have with my meal. I went to McDonalds drive thru to get a drink. The sub was horrible. The bread was bad, roast beef nasty. Thank goodness I only got a small sub. I am disappointed how much the service and food at Subway sucks now. I will only go to Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mike's...
