I love this gem in Gilbert. I am so happy we have a good boba shop in Gilbert, closer to home. They have a great atmosphere there, where you can chill, study or even hang out/meet up with friends. I believe it is a Vietnamese-owned Boba Shop because they have Vietnamese coffee and other treats like banh mi and at one point the rice paper rolls (banh gio). I haven't had a chance to try them yet, BUT I wouldn't doubt if it was good because the other things on the menu are amazing. What I have tried off the food menu is the popcorn chicken, and it is seasoned to perfection and perfectly crispy. I highly recommend grabbing this while there. If you like sweet things, they also have cookies. I like the peanut butter cookie with the PB chips in there. Also, the drinks are amazing, and the boba is served at a perfect consistency (not too hard and not too soft/mushy - we have all been there when the boba has been sitting too long but I've never had that here). Like most boba shops, you can adjust the sweetness and ice levels. I like to get my drinks at 50% sweetness and it's at that sweet spot where it's not too sweet and let's the base tea taste shine. I think if you like drinks on the sweeter side, then 100% sweetness is the move for you. And finally, the team at the store is always super attentive, friendly and are boba drinks fans so they share the love and excitement you have coming in for some boba drinks. Special shout-out to JL on our last visit who was ready with my to-go order and greeted me warmly when I entered. Oh, yeah...I forgot to mention that if you are on the go, you can always place your order ahead of time online and they will have it ready when you get there. This is one of my go-to spots for Boba in Gilbert. Highly recommend...
Read moreI was looking forward to trying this place but it wasn't all that great. Judging by their prices it's somewhat cheaper than the best quality boba places so I had my suspicions before tasting it. I ordered the watermelon green tea and oolong tea. I got the watermelon green tea with lychee popping boba, 75% sweet, and no ice. I wanted a fruit tea and chose the watermelon tea because it looked like most of the other fruit teas used syrups as flavoring rather than fresh fruit and/or juice, while the watermelon tea used fresh watermelon juice. They didn't put all that much lychee popping boba and there was actually more in my other drink. The sweetness level was good and the watermelon flavor was delicious. The green tea was okay. It tasted slightly oversteeped. I got the oolong tea with lychee popping boba, 100% sweet, and no ice. The oolong tea was not good at all. It didn't taste like very good quality, and it was definitely way oversteeped. I don't think I have ever had oolong tea that has been steeped that much. It left a terribly bitter aftertaste after just a couple of sips. The lychee popping boba was the only good thing about that drink. One great thing about this place was their online ordering. It was easy to order online and they had my order ready immediately when I walked in. The employees were also very friendly. Considering they just opened, maybe I'll try this place again in a few months and see if it...
Read moreShort version: you can never have too many boba tea house choices. Tealight had friendly staff, plentiful parking, a clean store, and a good selection. Plus, if I read correctly, they also have a cup you can purchase & return for refills at a discount. Love that idea!
Longer version: Popping into Boba Tealight was a last-minute decision. We had just eaten dinner in the area and were not fully satisfied with our meals so we did what we usually do in that situation, and looked for the closest boba tea house. The area around Tealight was large which meant finding a parking spot was not an issue, which is always a positive thing. There was only one other customer in the store, and the two employees immediately got out of their seats and went behind the counter to take our order. Both were very friendly.
My sister ordered the drago-lychee at 50% ice / sugar levels. She enjoyed it but did say next time she would probably go full 100% on both ice & sugar. I ordered the chai milk tea; it was good but I do think it would have been better as a thicker smoothie (or icee) type consistency. I almost changed my order when I saw the Winter Menu staring me in the face - the peppermint matcha or peppermint chai milk teas sound divine. Perhaps if we're in the area again soon, we'll stop in and give them a try. Sounds like a great...
