A large evening birthday party had been arranged for me on Friday night, June 17 at the San Tan Location. My entire family was coming! When we arrived we were put at a high-top table. with stools My daughter contacted our waitress, Carley, and said this may present a problem for my 93 year old mother and my handicapped husband. Carley apologized and set out to find alternate seating in the packed restaurant. Within a minute or two the manager came to our table, introduced himself and set out to remedy the situation. Carley also returned with high stools with backs for my husband which they searched for alternate seating. Several minutes later, my elderly mother arrived and was able to comfortably sit on the high stools provided. About the same time, Carley & the manager informed us that they had arranged alternate seating. We declined their offer and made the decision to sit at the high-top table so that we would not force anyone else to move. Both the manager and our waitress wanted to be sure of our decision as they offered to move another party for us. Most of the people at our table were very impressed by their efforts to accommodate us!
Drinks: pre-dinner drinks: several Blood Thirsty Cosmos (very good, but quite small) Bourbon Old Fashioned, several Moscow Mules and several Four Peaks Kilt Lifters. All were served within minutes of ordering and were cold and refreshing! I loved that the drinks were not all ice and very little liquor like other restaurants.
Starters: We absolutely loved the Sauteed' Brussel Sprouts. I could come back again and eat this for my main meal as well as the Spicy Fried Cauliflower. Both made to perfection!
Main meal: The BBQ White Cheddar burger was wonderful, and several ordered the Pork Carnitas Tacos as well as the Bacon Mac & Cheese. All had rave reviews. The children's menu was great with no complaints. I ordered the Tuscan Romano Chicken. It was very good and cooked with Risotto! The chicken & Risotto were cooked perfectly.
The manager checked back in with us several times and Carley was so attentive and cheerful. To add to this wonderful evening, We were given Creme Brulé as a birthday dessert!
It is so rare these days to have management so involved to such an extent as we experienced. You are blessed to have Carley as a waitress! Thank you for making my 66th birthday so special! We will definitely be...
Read moreWe have been trying to find our "go to" casual pub with good (if not great) food. We felt like we've been all over and either the food was bad (like BAD) or they played live music on the weekends, thus making conversation impossible (and then why bother going out?). We FINALLY found THE spot!!! The atmosphere is chill and the music is NOT blaring! I can't tell you how many places play the music to max level allowed. I really want to converse with the company I go out with, so I can't tell you how much I appreciated it! Next is the level of detail in EVERYTHING: the food is great. Everything is made from scratch and even the side salads were delicious. The thoughtfulness put into each dish was really amazing for a pub. I love shrimp tacos but hate getting a whole shrimp and the rest of my taco is empty. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, AND cut into medium pieces so you could appreciate the quality while also having a balanced bite of ingredients. They cut up a small lime chunk per taco. Really well thought out. Our server Kaylee (so sorry if her name is misspelled! She was amazing!) was the perfect level of being attentive without overbearing (this can tough when we came in with just a little over an hour before closing). She was very knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations! Last but certainly not least - the drinks. We typically find a bar is focused on a specific commodity of alcohol, but never have I seen a pub execute a listing cocktails (modern/claasic/and seasonal!), a variety of beers (craft/import/macro), AND a well balanced, quality wine list! We tried the Makers Manhattan and could not believe we got such a well executed, perfectly balanced Manhattan from a place that is not just focused on mixology. They were just lovely! We were just so impressed by how thoughtful every aspect of our experience was, and want to thank every member of their team (front line, back of the house, management, etc) for curating such a wonderful experience. It was everything we were looking...
Read moreUpdate: I highly suggest looking at all the negative reviews as they all say the same thing bad food and way to greasy! And the owners solution and reply? Hope you try us again sometime! Not likely!
I'm honestly not sure how they have so many stars. I'm not sure if this was because of covid 19 or what but this place was just awful from the beginning. It took 50 min for our food to come out. That's insane. And the food was awful. It was so great even my husband felt sick after. The fish and chips were probably the smallest I've ever had and the breading was all wrong it was soggy and fell off before you ate the fish. We also got the gastropub burger which sounded AMAZING. It is literally the worst hamburger I've had (at a restaurant) it had no flavour and the bacon was BURNT, I mean so burn we couldnt chew it we had to remove it and the onions were supposed to be grilled but were raw not grilled at all. We barley at half our meal and left. The service was O.K our server was very nice but not very attentive he asked how the food was and I had food in my mouth but still replied "uh it's fine I guess" and he said oh good and walked away I dont think he actually listened to my reply, also I ordered a virgin margarita and I didnt like it at all. Not a huge deal but usually if someone is finished dinner with out touching their drink you at least ask about it. But they didnt. The calamari was delicious and brought out right away that's about the only good thing. I'm bummed because we really wanted to like this place but with how slow they are and how awful the food was we...
