Wooow! This has been an EXPERIENCE, if nothing else. We booked a table for 3 adults, 1 kid and a baby for their Mother's day meal. I've never had such a bad dining experience, and this place is suppose to be high class. First, we were seated out in their patio, wonderful view of the train! However, with the screeching of chairs every time someone got up or sat down- you could not manage a conversation with your party. I definitely walked out of their with a headache. My suggestion, put felt stickers on the feet of your chairs. Secondly, the "buffet" ....!? What was going on there? There was very little food, what was offered was dirty and looked like you would get sick from eating it. Third, as per my mother- the pancakes were ice cold, along with the egg thingy. Were these even heated up?! Definitely weren't cooked! The "cold shrimp" sat in a water bath- that was DIRTY! I'm pretty sure it was meant to be on ice, but instead swam in a cesspool of germs. Fourth, you guys ran out of plates! My mother and son went first, while my Dad and I stayed back with my baby daughter. Their trip up, ran out of plates. 20 mins later, and we took our trip up, again ran out of plates. Fifth, from the time we got there to the time we left 1:30-2:30 there were NO dessert. They weren't taking any walk-ins, so everyone there was there by reservation- how do you not plan for the people coming? If the restaurant was short staffed or under trained or whatever 'issues' were going on to provide such a poor experience. The restaurant should have just remained closed today and just did nothing. This was a waste of a Mother's day, waste of time and waste of money. Atleast our waitress did not charge us for one of the meals... but still......
Read moreWe are passing through on the way home. They made it clear we were not welcome from the start. We waited at the host station for around 5 minutes without being acknowledged, no one was around except one individual waiting for door dash. The hostess very unenthusiastically dropped us at a table. When the server came, she seemed upset having another table, though the restaurant did not seem busy at all. Starting off, my spouse asked for a drink off the seasonal menu. The server said they didn't have the drink, because it was the wrong menu. My spouse asked if they had a seasonal drink, the server said they did, but she couldn't do it because, "everything is just out". I asked if there were any seasonal beers on the tap list, since it said to ask my server about rotating drafts. Her response was, "the bar is over there, you can go look and see what we have". The server dropped our food a while later, but other than that, we didn't see her again until halfway through the rest of my family eating when she grabbed one plate and dropped off the check. No question if everything is alright, or if we need anything else. Starting from the beginning, we tried to be polite. Even with 2 tired children, we insisted they use please and thank you's, to instill polite manners. When my wife couldn't decide on a drink because everything is out, we politely acknowledged we needed more time so we didn't waste the servers time. But from start to finish, it was clear we weren't welcome, and it ruined the whole experience. It is a shame because generally, the food could have been...
Read moreWent there for Easter buffet and it was not all that good. Most of what food they had was luke warm. Salad bar was nothing but a small bowl of lettuce and no selection at all. The only item that was hot and good was the omelet section. The person doing that was fast and knew how to cook up a omelet. The desert table was not all that good with the pies being to sweat. Apple and cherry was about it for desserts. Price was ok for Seniors. Would not go back again. Should of went somewhere else.
Update on my review. The manager called me and I was surprised to hear from him. He was very understanding about my review and wanted to make it right and have a satisfying customer. He offered me and my wife to come back in and give them another chance. Dinner was on him. We went back for dinner and was very satisfied with our meals. The manager came over and visited with us and made sure everything was good. Waitress was friendly and checked with us during the meal. This time it was very good. Steak was cooked correctly and tender and hot. Shrimp was the same way. Both choices were very good so I am updating from my last review. We will go back to the rail yard for dinner. I appreciate the manager going above and beyond to make a happy customer. Most reviews are not followed up with and just forgot about....
