Outside the homemade corn tortillas, there is not much to be excited about this place. The prices are extremely high and I am not a person that balks at high prices if the quality of food is great. Unfortunately, the tacos here are not. I ordered two Asada Tacos and a Shrimp Taco. The cashier asked if I wanted Jalapeños. Guacamole or onions (grilled or raw). I declined the Jalapeños and Onions.
When my order came up one Asada Taco had grilled onions and cheese. The other did not. Both had fresh sliced Guacamole. A random tortilla was added on top over the two Tacos.
These Tacos were rather large. You can't say they skimp. The Asada is more than plentiful and the two covered the entire place. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing. There's a bar for sauces, lemons and all other condiments on the side, but how do you know what is good. And Covid rules state this is not allowed. Anyhow, the Asada was very bland. No flavor outside the cornmeal of the tortilla.
Unfortunately, I never ate the Shrimp Taco. They gave me a Huarache. Which is not what I ordered. It was served in its own container. This did not lack much like the Asada Tacos. It had Lettuce, Bell Peppers, Steak Tomato, Avocado, Onions, beans and Sauce. I wanted a simple Taco. You couldn't even pick this thing up. And I didn't even see the Shrimp in there.
I was just disappointed. Nothing about my food said "we need to go back". Fyi - I understand prices have went up significantly, but they are charging $25...
Read moreInside, there are enough tables to sit. An employee continually cleaned the floor and tables for the customers while music played. While in line, I noticed 2 people were able to go in with their bicycles. The food menu is plentiful but seems too expensive. The lady at the register was patient and helpful in guiding me to choose even with many people waiting to order. I was charged for added toppings like avocado and other things that they charged for without telling me. I ordered two types of meat and a soda which are priced as much as a meal! All the workers were focused on their work so the service was quick: we didn't have to wait long to get our food. They only have 1 restroom for everyone which was disappointing when I went to go wash my hands. Unfortunately, the food had no flavor like water. I was going to let the expensive price of the food slide for the flavor but once I tasted the food it disappointed me. Never in my life did Mexican food let me down. I tried to make up for it with the food bar that had all the amenities (salsas, pico de gallo, cebolla y cilantro, lĂmon) and was clean but like the food - the salsas had no flavor! - which turned this food experience completely upside down. If you want quantity over flavor this is the place for you other than that, stay away. I will be going back to give it another shot but as of right now, the expensive bland food will keep me away...

A historic taqueria, I would say. Generations of families have attended here including myself.
It has a wide array of food options on their menu. From fantastically grilled tacos to Tortas and tamales. You can ask them to cook your order at your preference (well-done, Medium,Chard.) Portions are adequate for a single person with the opportunity to share amongst others sed meal.
Plenty of refreshments from popular latin culture drinks to Aguas frescas and alcoholic beverages as well.
Parking is very limited in the restaurant car park. Maybe perhaps about 12 cars would take up parking space. Lighting is limited at night but its a safe area nonetheless. Tables are available outside and also in a limited space area a small patio like seating set up. Near this patio you can observe chiefs roasting/cooking meats with a nice smokey smell to please your olfaction.
The service was fast the employees are nice and helpful. Plenty of seating inside during off days and gets filled quickly during weekends. Best times I would say before people get off work.
Self serve stand for accoutrement such as salsas and vegetables.
A bit off Monterey Freeway it is definitely worth the drive out there and at the same time have a look at...
