We ordered Indian food last night and specifically requested “spicy.” While we expected heat, we were shocked to find that rice was not included with any of the six curries we ordered—especially since the online menu does not mention that rice must be ordered separately. I called the restaurant to clarify, and they confirmed rice needs to be purchased on its own.

During that call, the staff confirmed my order but did not mention anything about the spice level or offer any recommendations, even though all the curries were marked as spicy. They also called a second time to confirm pickup instructions—yet still no heads-up about the extreme heat level.

When we got home and sat down to enjoy our $150 meal, we were absolutely overwhelmed by how spicy the food was. It was so intense that we couldn’t even taste the flavors—only burning heat. And this is coming from people originally from India, who are no strangers to spicy food.

The spice level was so excessive that we ended up throwing away most of the meal. It was simply inedible. We expected bold flavor, not a painful experience. Food in order of preference: tadka dal (very good), chicken tikka masala (good), palak paneer. Unfortunately the palak paneer was far too salty—and I like more salt than most Californians do. I made a friendly suggestion to lower the salt, and our server insisted on bringing out another serving with less salt! Very nice and unexpected, but I hope they’ll just fix the recipe for everyone's benefit. The chicken dish would be better if the chicken had been cooked in the sauce, but it was otherwise good.

The level of customer service is extremely rare. Our server asked three times how everything tasted and brought extra napkins in the middle of the meal.
