Hideout Tequila Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Gladstone

First timer, atmosphere is great, clean, cool wooden slab tables, big TV’s, music and Touch Tunes. Bartender was super nice. However, I would give a 1 star for the drink that I order, a Lemon Drop. Bartender admitted he has worked for 5 months and never bartender before. He poured vodka and tequila (?) in a glass, added straight sugar and water and a slice of lemon. Was not shaken or strained, the bar apparently has no triple sec or simple syrup (according to the bartender) the drink was poured in a whisky glass, not a martini glass and the “sugar rim” tasted like salt. I let him know his drink was “interesting” and the glass he gave me was literally a quarter way filled. I asked if this was a shot or suppose to be a mixed drink and he said “yeah, a shot I guess” when I ordered and paid for a mixed drink. Weird… also, no beer tap or grill. Just an air fryer. I would give a one star, but I have hope there are nicer bartenders that work here. I also never post bad reviews, but this wasn't a good experience. We came in with a few of friends, first time. Seems like a "locals" bar. The bartender was rude to my fiance. He has been sober for almost 3 years and ordered a root beer. Our other friends were drinking, but the bartender treated him much differently. If a bartender thinks they won't be tipped because someone orders a non alcoholic drink, maybe you should change your thinking. He did tip btw. Not everyone drinks and some people could be designated drivers. She ignored him for quite a few minutes when he came back to get a water, she was busy socializing. We went on a Thursday for happy hour, because the online menu made happy hour sound right up our alley. The interior is beautiful & has potential, and maybe on weekend it would be a better experience. The happy hour doesn’t exist - They have daily specials of like $5 hot dogs and $3 shots but that’s about it. Maybe I’ll try coming on a Friday or Saturday night to see if the vibes...
