I had an upsetting experience and the OWNER Katy disregarded the entire situation. First, I called to make a reservation for 7 and was told that if I was to arrive at the time of opening that we should be okay for seating. Upon arrival, we were first put in a corner and split between 2 tables. The second half of our group arrived and we noticed plenty of open seats in the front that had reserved signs. We asked if the reservations were for later and we were told that they were not until 8pm. The table sat 6, and the waitress pulled one chair and we brought a chair from the bar area since we ended up being 8. It was 5:30pm. Come 7pm, the hostess brought an older WHITE FAMILY and she turned and told US (MEXICAN FAMILY) that the party at the next table arrived and we needed to give them our chairs. It was extremly rude and disrespectful. We told her that we were told that the table was until 6, and that WE didn't pull the chairs over from the table... the staff did. She walked off and said it was fine, and continued to pull 2 chairs from an empty table since there was plenty of empty seats in the restaurant. We told her it was extremely rude and she argued back saying she wasn't being rude. I then went up to let the owner know about the situation. She turned to the hostess and said, "you got 2 chairs right? Then it's fine." Are you kidding!?!? I walked away, and let the situation go. The fact that this even happened is unbelievable. If it had been the other way around, and we walked in, it would of never crossed their minds to ask the white people to give up seats!!! We spent over $250 and I regret not walking out as soon as this happened. I'm never returning to this establishment, and will tell everyone I know, not to support them. UPDATE: I stopped by today and caught Steve (owner) and told him about the situation, and how upset it made me. He apologized and acknowledged that the situation was poorly handled and should not of happened. I agree. I feel better that he offered an apology as that was all I was seeking. He then offered to comp a bottle of wine if I do...
Read moreReally good food. First time trying this little gem of a place out. Have lived in the area for a very long time. Have passed by the place several 100 times, and wondered if it was any good? I have been missing out big time! Not a huge menu, but the offerings cover enough that you have some pretty good choices. I was there to just get the food to take home. Obviously it's the extensive wine, and piano bar that is really what people come for. Clearly lots of regulars. Seemed a lot of everyone knew each other, as they would get up and sing. I'm not a jazz person, but this night seemed that it was you could come up an sing whatever you wanted, as long as the piano player was able to work it out, an play it on his piano. An I'm no expert at all, don't listen to piano regularly but think it's beautiful. The pianist was absolutely GREAT, loved it. (short time I was there) Could have listen ed to him for hours. I will definitely go back. Didn't realize it was as big as it was inside from just driving by, Looks were deceiving... Great atmosphere, and decor. Liked the Bar area, an the way there were different seating areas situated for dining. It was a packed house, and pretty loud, but it's a piano bar. Not sure if there's other times you can just come in an have a quieter dinner? So if that's what you would prefer, might want to inquire. Will be taking friends and family there, I know they will like it too. Good place to celebrate things. Limited days and times open, so check that out if you're...
Read moreThough this is apparently quite a nice jazz wine bar, we came for the food and drink. We arrived on a Wednesday at opening time (5 pm) without reservations, and were seated immediately.
The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and were professional while still being friendly. The two appetizers we ordered for the table (Parmesan Garlic Chips and Fried Burrata) were delicious - I don't know what the dipping sauce is that came with the chips, but it's wonderful! Lots of delicious garlic in both as well.
We all enjoyed our main meals - three different pizzas and Lemon Dijon Gnocchi (I posted a few photos), and left with four boxes of leftovers for additional lunch or dinner meals tomorrow.
We had a table directly in front of where the band would be playing later in the evening, and got to watch one early arriving band member setting up some equipment. I suspect this table is always reserved during the musical hours, but it's a nice spot to eat and watch life happen both inside and outside the restaurant at other...
