If you’re looking for authentic Cuban food in Kansas City, La Cubana KC is the place to go! 🇨🇺✨

I visited their new Gladstone location and immediately loved how colorful and vibrant it was — it really gives you that Havana vibe. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming, perfect for a casual night out or a family dinner.

We started with cocktails and appetizers, and the empanadas (both chicken and beef) were fantastic. The papas rellenas (stuffed potatoes with beef) were also a standout — crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned inside.

For our mains, we tried a variety of dishes: • El Tropical – shredded beef with rice (my favorite of the night!) • Sandwich Cubano – classic, flavorful, and perfectly pressed • Tacos Cubanos – a delicious trio of tacos • La Mojarra – whole fried tilapia, crispy and flavorful • Plus a chicken and steak dish that was also great

Every single dish was full of flavor and felt so authentic. The portions are generous, and the service was friendly and attentive.

Overall, La Cubana KC is a must-visit if you’re craving Cuban cuisine in Kansas City. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu

​La Cubana in Gladstone is an absolute delight! From the moment you walk in, you're treated like familia. The customer service is top-notch—everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive, and happy to help you navigate their wonderful menu. ​And the food? Absolutely fantastic. I had the grilled chicken, which was cooked to perfection (Cuban style)—a little bit of crispy and full of flavor, served with fluffy white rice and sweet plantains. We also tried the chicharrones with a tamal, and it was a flavor explosion! The pork was perfectly crispy, and the pickled onions on top were the perfect finishing touch. Everything tasted authentic and was clearly made with care. ​They have a great selection of drinks, too. After reading the reviews, it seemed like a good place to go to try cuban food in kansas city. I placed an order for a cubano sandwich., croquettes and stuffed potatoes and plantains. I'll start with the sandwich. The flavor was ugh mid-range. Which I would have been okay with Had it not been a $15 sandwich that had barely any meat on it I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the croquettes. They were overcooked, they did not include the chimichuri sauce. Those weren't bad as far as taste goes. The plantains were pretty good. I was not disappointed by those. But the next disappointing thing was the stuffed potatoes, which was basically nothing's but a deep fried potato. It was supposed to be stuffed with meat and there was pretty much no nothing inside of them. Overall experience. I'd have to give 2 stars if they give you better portions. I would up it to 4 the stars. Very disappointed especially since it cost 40.00 to eat...
