Gale 'n' Dale's — Restaurant in Glasgow

I had lunch here with three family members, all of us first-time patrons. We all went buffet except for my sister, who ordered a cheeseburger which required some time to prepare.

Five or ten minutes after we sat down, we saw burgers being served to other customers who had been behind us in line. As my sister is physically handicapped and has trouble walking, one of us got up to ask about her order on her behalf. We were told, by one of the ladies behind the counter (who, btw, were otherwise polite and kind), that we were mistaken and that the other parties had been in front of us.

Feeling a bit confused and not wanting to rudely press the issue in case we were wrong, we sat back down to wait. Three of us enjoyed our food as best we could while feeling awkward and guilty that our fourth was without. The burger would be out any minute, we all reasoned, so why let the other food get cold? 20 or 30 minutes later, as three of us were nearly done with our meals, the burger had still not arrived. In the meantime, my sister had resigned to simply get it "to go" and eat at home.

I went back to the counter and informed an employee that, while my food had been good enough, one of our party had still not received hers. Confused looks were exchanged among the workers, who it turns out had indeed misplaced the order after all. We were told we could wait another 10 minutes and they would cook a burger, but we opted instead for a refund for the missing food and then left.

I write this review not out of spite but to provide a more accurate restaurant rating and a bit of feedback to the owners:

1. Mistakes happen. But, when a customer, after a reasonable amount of time, politely asks about their order, that is your opportunity to double-check things before sending them away empty-handed. Not exercising due diligence in your job winds up punishing customers who are patiently giving you the benefit of the doubt.
2. When you lose an order entirely, it's worth walking over to apologize directly to the person you have inconvenienced (who in this case could not come to you to advocate for herself).
3. The person whose order you neglected had placed $5 in your tip jar earlier. She didn't even ask to get it back. She did not make a fuss, despite not having eaten at all that day. She would probably be embarrassed that I'm writing this review, but I thought you...

I finally figured out what made me sick with a allergic reaction recently it was only after talking to a lady who was working when I considered going in to eat for a first time in person after seeing what they had what they was serving between food cross contamination an mishandling of food mind you folks alpha gal is real it is at times devastating an when a places operates in such a manner to not label or address that there gravy is made with pork rendering making it a deadly cocktail for someone with alpha gal looking for a decent meal someone should make them put up a allergy warning on several places especially there drive through I informed the lady that one day she could make someone sick enough to be very liable since she didn't know the first thing about food safety cleanliness an appearance just walk in an look at there hot table and the disarray yeah I would not entertain...

Passing thru at lunch time and looking for a place to eat that wasn't a chain restaurant. Found this gem and was extremely happy. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, cream corn and apples. My fiancé had a cheeseburger and fries with a chicken salad sandwich to go as it's her favorite. The meat loaf was great, the mashed potatoes phenomenal and the cream corn had the perfect amount of sweetness. Before we left she sampled the chicken salad and loved it! We then inquired about purchasing some of it to go. They were more than willing to accommodate our request even on a day when they were extremely busy as power was out around the county and they had them lined up at the door!
