A solid DiCarlo’s franchise. Opening hours have faded a bit, which I’d attribute to the area’s economy. DiCarlo’s pizza is best understood to outsiders as more of a “snack pizza”, with a thinnish crust. Cheese and pepperoni get added after it leaves the oven, which annoys some people. Frankly, it’s like any other food — you gotta be in the mood for it. Pic is of four slices about ten minutes out the oven, upon arrival. My pizza aficionado buddy called them “perfect.” YMMV.

I did not order this “pizza.” I did not eat this “pizza”. My wife ordered this “pizza”. My wife loves this “pizza”. With that said I have eaten pizza from this diCarlos in the past. It’s the best version of the cold cheese pizza in WV. Of course it might be the only version of it in WV. It’s not the depression or the 1979 oil crisis. You can use some fossil fuels to melt the cheese. ;) You should try this “pizza”.

Crispy crust, but still a nice layer of dough on the top. Extra cheese on the side makes it great! The pepperoni is not cooked, so I prefer not adding this as a topping. Instead, I choose pepper rings to top it off! A local hot spot for great pizza.

What happened to the CRUST???? I have had ties to Glendale/Moundsville for 40+ years. The version I got this week (early Oct 2021) was by far the worst crust style I’ve ever had. We ALWAYS enjoyed the local DiCarlos and like most we have ordered several hundred times. Too many slices and trays to count. When I come to town now, I eat some amount of fresh DiCarlos’s every night. I have always found Glendale/Moundsville location to be comparable to other locations. Things have gradually changed for the worse since the late 90’s/early-mid 2000’s. The crust thickness is no longer thin and crispy. It’s now like a focaccia bread…way too puffy and airy. Like they are trying to duplicate the slightly thicker crust of the Elm grove location, but that is its own unique animal (which has now left the DiCarlos chain). The difference is Elm Grove can pull off a thicker crust.

In any case, It’s now necessary to drive to downtown Wheeling or Elm Grove for my nightly DiCarlo’s fix. It’s a real shame. I mean, there seems to only ever be 1 car in the parking lot….so if you don’t believe me, that should tell you all you need to know. PLEASE send your employees to Wheeling to train and learn how to make the original style crust. NOBODY likes the focaccia style you have going on. Consistency is important. You are part of a chain. We shouldn’t have to drive to Wheeling or Elm Grove. Please bring back the ORIGINAL CRUST!!! NO PUFF!!!

(The sauce, cheese and pepperoni are all perfect, don’t change...

No wonder DeFelice Pizza was packed. Called in last night to order a pizza-the guy answered and immediately put me on hold--for over 5 minutes. By the time I got to the store, I was still on hold. When I walked in there was one guy making pizza and the other guy walked around the corner , apparently not doing anything. When I showed him my phone with me still on hold , he looked at me and said-What can I do for you!. Not even I'm sorry-nothing! I ordered a regular tray. I asked for a little extra sauce. When I got my pizza, I went to my truck and tried a piece. No extra sauce, tried another piece, same thing. Brought the rest home, same thing. I have been going to the location in Glen Dale for over 50 years-this is absolutely the worst pizza I have ever gotten. This wouldn't happen if Pizza Joe was still there! I'm afraid I am going to start going to...

Ok, I know that most people in Glendale and Moundsville love DiCarlo's after all it's been here for a long time but, I find that it just depends on whose working because sometimes it's not so great. The last time I got pizza there, which was a couple of weeks ago, the pizza was not good. The sauce was very spicy and the cheese was half melted and half raw and the crust was burnt. I hate where they are located at because it's hell getting out of there due to the traffic and I usually have to wait until there's no traffic so, I can pull out. They should of bought the Pizza Hut building, it has plenty of parking spaces and you don't have to wait to pull out. I'm not saying that I have stopped going there, I'm just saying they are not my favorite place to get pizza because you just don't know if it's...
