The past few months have been brutal for many businesses across the U.S, but small, independent shops like Homage have carried an especially heavy load.
This beloved coffee shop has weathered more than its fair share of challenges from illness and personal hardship to rising costs, supply issues, and the ongoing struggle to keep up with a rapidly shifting economy.
Despite all of it, the family behind Homage has continued to show up with kindness, warmth, and an unshakable passion for what they do. Theyâve made difficult decisions..ones that werenât always easy or popular, adding dairy milk back to the menu after being proudly dairy-free for years was one of those difficult decisions.
Every choice has been made with care, thoughtfulness, and a deep respect for their patrons and their community.
What stands out most is their unwavering commitment to inclusion, compassion, and quality.
Homage isnât just a coffee shop. Itâs a home built on passion and love. Itâs one of those rare places that carries both a mission and a soul, and the people behind it continue to set a powerful example of resilience and integrity.
Even in the hardest times, they create space for joy, connection, and Damn Good Coffee!
I truly hope Homage stays open for years to come. It's one of the few places that makes this state feel like home, honestly, it's part of what keeps me here in Arizona. â¤ď¸
Update2
I am pleasantly surprised to find out today that they widened the offering to include whole milk for the non-vegan patrons too.
I can tell they have made a careful decision and prepared throughout the kitchen to separate and make sure there is no cross contamination between vegan and non-vegan ingredients. I feel that this is a very significant and carefully thought out inclusive decision that will also cater to more people who are used to classic coffee experience. They care about their customers and we first hand can feel and taste it in their craft.
I recommend this coffee house to everyone and once they try it they are completely hooked.
(Small tip) It's also a perfect coffee shop to visit away from all the hustle and bustle of the events in the downtown Glendale, just a wonderful place to sit and relax and play some board games or listen to birds outside. There are small rooms inside for a team meeting or chat with friends or even just to enjoy solitary time reading books. Amazingly cozy đ
Update 1: I've been enjoying their hot pastries, Brekkie bun and chorizo with my coffee (caramel toffee latte) daily. Brekkie bun is a breakfast bun with potatoes and veggie sausage, idk how they do it but it's amazing.
Chorizo puff pastry is also full of flavor and the soy meat and seasoning, in a puff pastry blanketed like a empanada đĽ it's so delicious!!
I love how every single creation in their cafe is plant based and homemade like their syrups!
I'm nowhere vegan, but their food and coffee tastes so rich and delicious!
Big shout out to their small family business the owners Melissa, Mike, Yati, Livy â¤ď¸

We dropped by expecting nothing, this was our first time trying the cafe. My coworker recommended this place.
The cafe sits on a really beautiful area of historic downtown Glendale. There are lots of parking around this establishment to quickly run in and pick up morning treat and get back to work route.
I chatted with the shop regarding membership questions the night before and when I walked in, they immediately knew me by face. I was pleasantly surprised.
Melissa made us feel comfortable and was very welcoming.
I got bourbon Brown sugar latte 𤤠and it is super smooth, foam is rich and incorporated throughout the body of coffee, it's well made. The coffee seem to be very low in acid too, making each sip very smooth.
I love the apple puff pastry, I can see why they would run out of some of their pastries!
I am happy to have found a local, family supported coffee shop that I can hang out every week â¤ď¸âşď¸
A must place to visit if you are in...
Read moreHomage Coffee House is doing it right. From the moment I exited my car I was impressed. The location is easy to find, sits on a cute little lot, well kept, visible with its bright yellow paint and not overdone with fancy signage and extra things to take away from Old Towns character. One of the reasons itâs great is the old home it sits in. There are a few tables out front to enjoy the weather as well as more inside. When I walked in I was greeted by not one, but three wonderful women, smiles and all. Impressive! Today was my first ever visit and that was a great first impression for me. For those of you donât know this coffee shop is vegan and cruelty free. They make all of their syrups in house. They just opened a second location in Litchfield Park of that may be closer to some of you. Iâm not vegan and have started to learn that there are some pretty great options. Iâm still learning what I love, but always excited to try new things. I talked with one of the girls about what she loved and such and decided to go with her favorite which was a agave, cinnamon powder latte which I got iced. My son who typically only likes blended items went with the honeycomb, toffee, chocolate latte iced because they donât do blended drinks. My eyes quickly went t directly to a cherry turnover. Both drinks were a 16oz, but once I got mine I wished id picked 24oz because it was phenomenal. Both drinks looked delicious. My son said he wasnât as much of a fan, but again he only typically gets blended and he likes his drinks way too overdone. So I did him a favor and drank that too ha ha ha. Both drinks for so smooth. No acidic tastes. No heavy syrups lingering and I really enjoyed them. The barista explained before I ordered that her go to has more of a coffee flavor which is what I wanted while the honeycomb latte is on the sweeter side. She was on point with both. I think the agave cinnamon latte is now one of my top favorites out of all the coffee Iâve drank in my life. We all know thatâs a high bar lol. Iâm typically a cold brew drinker, but was looking for something new today. They get their beans from Xanadu which you can buy for home brewing yourself. The inside seating is split between multiple rooms in the shop, again this is an old home and theyâve left a lot as is. Itâs bright inside and the minimalist decor was great. I canât wait to come back soon. Lastly, the cherry turnover was flaky, cherries yummy and not overly sweet and just delicious. I almost had to smack my sonâs hand away because sharing is hard . HA. All kidding aside this place is...
Read moreEdit: Upon reading other reviews and seeing that they are a 100% vegan coffee shop with no animal products I called to inquire about the âvanilla sweet creamâ used in the vanilla latte. The cream is plant based, which they read me the ingredients label and while itâs not an issue for me it does contain coconut but is not labeled as such. I did bring up concern with the fact that it is not labeled and they let me know that anyone with âthat sensitive of allergies will usually let us knowâ. They did insist on issuing me a refund and while I do appreciate the openness and willingness to do so, I still have general concerns. With this correction and discussion with them Iâm amending my review to 4 stars as they did make it right to some degree, we can disagree on labeling and thatâs okay. I do still wish them the best as they appear to be loved by the local community.
The coffee selections and unique flavors are all excellent. I got the vanilla latte and it had a rich flavor without being overly sweet or bitter.
Iâm only giving 3 stars for two reasons, the first is it has very limited seating. It is a really small location which is okay but if youâre looking for seating this coffee shop is rather small - but the good coffee makes up for it especially if youâre just in and out.
The second (and more important) reason relates to the labeling of the pastries. I mentioned to them that they had labeled two different types of pastries the same way as âapple pecanâ however some were loaded almond slivers, not pecans. When I brought it up they mentioned that they just hadnât had many that morning to put out so they just put them out there alongside the pecan ones. As someone with an almond allergy, I noted that this is a concern as almonds are one of the major allergens and it was not clearly labeled. While the staff was polite they didnât come across very well. I can tell they were trying to be nice but when I was told âthank you for the suggestionâ it was rather passive aggressive. Before I left the label was corrected, so at least they did correct the labeling, but it did raise concerns for me that they may not take allergens as seriously as...
