I really thought I would love this place been waiting to go, found out they have sugar free flavors and being diabetic I love when a place has more than just vanilla. Finally got to go but found out they have no cold brew instead they do a variation of one where they do drip coffee and iced it and add shots of espresso. So I ordered that with sugar free flavor. I get it and taste it very bad, doesn't taste good at all and I love when coffee is more bitter than sweet this was however not that good. I thought I couldn't taste for a second so I asked my sister to taste my coffee for me to check and she couldn't taste any either. So I asked if they could add a lil more flavor so I have a hint at least of flavor, I saw the lady using regular flavor not sugar free so I asked if she used that and she said yeah which I explained I can't have regular sugar flavors if they have sugar free ones like I ordered. The lady said she would need to re make the whole thing or if I want it. I told her nicely I couldn't take that regular one. I didn't want to shout out IM DIABETIC, I shouldn't have to, but she made it awkward like asking why couldn't I, I get it, the waste in the product but that isn't on me if they made it wrong. After all that left with a bad cup of super...
Read moreThey did a wonderful update to the old Coffee Bean& Tea Leaf shop - really nice ambience! I had a large (16 oz) plain, brewed coffee and a cinnamon roll. I noted that the cinnamon rolls looked burned, but the barista assured me it was a brown sugar-bourbon icing. It wasn't; they were burned, dry, tough, and totally inedible - tossed in trash. Coffee was good, not very good, but good. I was charged $7.99 for the coffee and cinnamon roll. My friend asked for decaf, and the barista said he did not have any, but be happy to make an Americano. What the barista did not mention was that the large Americano would be another $2, so my friend paid $10 for the Americano and a single slice of pound cake (which he reports was edible). I noted an abundance of students inside and outside working on laptops (free wifi), with a Lola drink, but all of them brought their own food - some from shops nearby. So, I would say the price is way too high for what they offer. Hopefully, adjustments will be made with regard to quality of food and beverages, as...
Read moreFinally, great coffee! I recently moved to Phoenix from Australia (which has the best coffee in the world), and to say that the coffee here in Phoenix has been underwhelming is an understatement. LOL. I was craving coffee today and went into Fry's and saw a Starbucks, but I've had such terrible coffee there in the past that I had no desire to try it again. I saw Lola Coffee on my drive in and decided to give it a try. I was craving a cold drink but they didn't have any blended ice drinks like a Frappuccino, but I got the iced mocha with some cream on top. I can't believe that it actually tasted amazing! It was the best coffee I've had since moving here! Thank you, Lola Coffee, for restoring my hope that there is some good coffee to be found in Phoenix! I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be back and I will let my Australian friends know to give this place a try. They have great coffee! I look forward to trying a hot drink when the weather cools down. Keep up the great work, and thank you for serving...
